Pretty Trash

Hi Stamping Friends!!

At my last two Spring Stampin' Club gatherings, I've created a 4th card for my gals to make, instead of our typical 3. The 4th card being a clean and simple card that can be made in 5 minutes or less. I want them to know that stamping can be easy and simple. It doesn't always have to involve lots of steps and "stuff". And besides, if you are making a card for a non-crafty person, like a 5 year old, they are not always going to appreciate all the time and effort you put into creating a stamping masterpiece. These are the kinds of cards I like to call "pretty trash". They look pretty and nice, but you know they are going to get thrown away just as soon as you walk off the premises. :)

PATTERNED OCCASIONS

Super easy. Super quick. Just punch out various circles and glue to a white card base. This would be a great card to send out after a child's birthday party. The Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper and the Patterned Occasions stamp set are both part of the Sale-A-Bration promotion going on now at my Stampin' Up! online store. Just order $50 worth of fabulous Stampin' Up! products and you can choose either of these items (and many others!) for FREE!!!

Now since I'm not typically a clean and simple kind of a girl, I decided to do a "step-up" version of this card. This is where you take a good card and make it super, amazingly, awesome!!

PATTERNED OCCASIONS Version 2

Here I added a Tangerine Tango card base and embossed the Whisper White layer with the Honeycomb embossing folder. I also added a button (FREE during Sale-A-Bration!), a butterfly, a flower, some bling, and a ribbon (also FREE during Sale-A-Bration!). Plus I embossed the card stock circles. This is typically the kind of card I create. But when I'm making something for a 5 year old, you can bet I'll be creating some "pretty trash". :)

Find out more about Sale-A-Bration by visiting my Stampin' Up! website. The link is on the side bar.

I'm getting ready for my Delightful Dozen card class this Saturday. Mr. Brown delivered all  the supplies yesterday and I made everyone a gift bag with their supplies in it. I'll show pics on Friday. Hope you are having a great day!

Happy Stamping!
Krystal

Your first CAS card is perfect for my sister-in-law who has no appreciation for the work, thought, and creativity that goes into making a card. I had to beg my brother to send me his birthday card back when he didn't want it any more because I spent days crafting it for him and I loved it so much. No more works of art for those two! Thank you for taking the angst away for me! Nancy B. P. S. Love your blog...
