Stampin' Up! Birthday Greeting Cards and Water Polo

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Well this month has been a crazy, busy month. I don't think I've put away my overnight bag for weeks. By the time I unpack it, it's time to pack again. And with gas prices at 4 bucks a gallon here in SoCal, I don't even want to imagine how many greenbacks I've burned in my tank!!

In between all the driving and overnight stays, I've been busily stamping for the Greeting Card Fundraiser I did for my daughter's USA Water Polo Junior Olympics which starts this Thursday.

I created 23 assorted bundles of 5 cards in each bundle. That's 115 cards baby!! (I still have to create 10 cards, but we are not going to think about that right now.) :)

I thought I would start sharing a few of the cards I created. I used up a lot of retired products which feels amazing. And makes room for new goodies!!!

Stamps: Big News
Paper: Coastal Cabana (retired), Whisper White, SAB DSP (retired)
Accessories: Candy Dots, Deco Label Framelits, Ruffled Ribbon (retired)

Stamps: Sprinkles of Life, Four You (retired)
Paper: Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe, Lovely Lilac (REALLY Retired!) Misc. Retired DSP
Accessories: 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Tree Builder Punch, Large Polka Dot EF, Pearl Jewels, Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon (retired)

It's kind of fun to mix the old with the new. But it's actually a little stressful designing the card bundles. You want to make sure it's a nice mix of male/female, young/old, cutesy/elegant. It's not easy!!

But I am so thankful for everyone who placed orders. I'm thinking of doing another card fundraiser soon to help fund our church planting ministry here in North County. It's nice to be able to help out my family while I do something that I love!!

Hopefully in between wash, paying bills, setting up baby sitting arrangements, packing (AGAIN!!), making phone calls, etc... I will be able to share more cards tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Stampin' Up! Sprinkles of Life Ice Cream Clouds

Hey Stampin' Friends!!

As promised, I'm posting two days in a row so I can share all the fun details of my Sprinkles of Life June Online Stamp Class cards with all of my class members. I mailed their kits on Monday and want to make sure they have all the instructions available when their kits arrive so they can enjoy all kinds of stamping fun!!

The Sprinkles of Life stamp set is the 2015 Ronald McDonald House Charities "Make a Difference" stamp set. Every year Stampin' Up! chooses one stamp set that helps support the RMHC. For every Sprinkles of Life set that is sold, Stampin' Up! will donate $3 to RMHC. So it's a great reason to "have to" buy stamps!! :)

And I love that they have a coordinating punch (the Tree Builder punch) for this set. I'm a sucker for "matchy-matchy" things.

Here are the last two cards from my class...

Sprinkles of Life card #3

Stamps: Sprinkles of Life
Ink: Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Pink Pirouette
Paper: Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, In-Color Envelope Paper
Accessories: Tree Builder Punch, Decorative Dots EF, Tea Lace Paper Doily, Oval Framelits, Label Bracket Punch, White Satin Ribbon

Kit Includes:

1 - Tip Top Taupe card base
1 - Whisper White card front
1 - Pink Pirouette embossed card front
1 - Watermelon Wonder striped oval
1 - Tea Lace Paper Doily
1 - Crumb Cake piece for stamping
1 - Tip Top Taupe piece for stamping
1 - Pink Pirouette piece for stamping
1 - Whisper White piece for stamping
1 - Whisper White Label Bracket punch for sentiment
1 - Whisper White Satin Ribbon

Instructions:

Glue Pink Pirouette embossed card front to Whisper White card front.
Glue Whisper White card front to Tip Top Taupe card base.
Glue Watermelon Wonder striped oval to Tea Lace Paper Doily.
Glue Tea Lace Paper Doily to center of card.
Using Tip Top Taupe (or any light brown) ink, stamp the cone image onto the Crumb Cake cardstock. Cut out using scissors.
Using Tip Top Taupe ink, stamp the "ice cream scoop" image onto the Tip Top Taupe cardstock. Punch out with Tree Builder punch.
Using Pink Pirouette (or any light pink) ink, stamp the "ice cream scoop" image onto the Whisper White and Pink Pirouette cardstock. Punch out with Tree Builder punch.
Using Dimensionals, attach your stacked ice cream cone to the center of the Watermelon Wonder striped oval.
Add "cherry" on top (previously stamped).
Using Watermelon Wonder (or any bright pink) ink, stamp your sentiment onto the Whisper White Label Bracket punch.
Using Dimensionals, attach sentiment to right side of card.
Tie Whisper White Satin Ribbon to top of card.

As a kid, one of my favorite flavors of ice cream was Neopolitan. I think that's why I love this card so much. It's a sweet reminder of many lazy, summer days eating ice cream on my grandparents front porch. Tip Top Taupe is the perfect "chocolate ice cream" color!!

Sprinkles of Life card #4

Stamps: Sprinkles of Life
Ink: Smoky Slate
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Silver Glimmer, Vellum, Smoky Slate DSP
Accessories: Tree Builder Punch, Banner Triple Punch, Dazzling Details, Silver Ribbon

Kit Includes:

1 - Whisper White card base
1 - Pool Party card front
1 - Smoky Slate DSP strip
1 - Whisper White piece for stamping
1 - Smoky Slate piece for stamping
1 - Whisper White banner for sentiment
1 - Vellum "cloud"
1 - Silver Glimmer "cloud"
1 - Silver Glimmer "raindrop"
1 - Silver ribbon

Instructions:

Glue Smoky Slate DSP strip to left side of Pool Party card front.
Glue Pool Part card front to Whisper White card base.
Using Smoky Slate ink (or any light gray) ink, stamp the "cloud" image onto the Whisper White and Smoky Slate pieces. Punch out using Tree Builder punch.
Temporarily position your clouds on your card front. Stamp the raindrop image using Smoky Slate ink.
Glue the Smoky Slate cloud onto the Silver Glimmer cloud.
Using Dimensionals, attach the Whisper White and Smoky/Silver cloud to the card front.
Using a Glue Dot, attach the vellum cloud under the Whisper White cloud onto of the Pool Party card front. (It is "raised" like the other clouds.)
Using Dazzling Details, fill in your raindrops. Let dry completely.
Stamp your sentiment onto your banner using Smoky Slate ink. Add silver raindrop.
After Dazzling Detail raindrops are dry, attach your sentiment banner to the left side of your card front using Dimensionals.
Tie Silver ribbon around the top of your card.

And you're done!!

Whenever I finish a card and look at it too long, I always think of things I would have done differently. On this card I wish I would have embossed the vellum cloud with the Decorative Dots EF. Just to give it a little more texture. And I also wish I had purchased the Silver Metallic Thread because it would have been the perfect addition to swirl under the sentiment banner. Or maybe if I had the Silver Sequin Trim I could have added that somewhere. But you can't use what you don't have. Guess that means I have some shopping to do!!! ;)

I'm so enjoying these monthly Online Stamp Classes. I hope you are too.

I was going to do the Tin of Cards for my July class, but it has been so overwhelmingly popular, that it is on backorder. So I can't decide which stamp set to use next. What do you think?

- Watercolor Words
- Garden in Bloom
- Build a Birthday
- Watercolor Wings

Help me choose! Leave a comment before the 4th of July and I will randomly select one commenter to receive a Luck Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Sprinkles of Life Cucumber Watermelon

Hey Stampin' Friends!!

Missed me? I've been stamping my little heart out, just not blogging. Because... WATER POLO!! And a lot of it. All three kids play and it keeps us plenty busy during the summer. Usually dad is watching at one pool while mom is watching at another. So blogging always takes a back seat at this time of year.

I'm still offering my Online Stamp Classes throughout the summer so I get to share the super fun card kits I sent out today. They feature the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and coordinating Tree Builder punch.

We interrupt this blog post with exciting water polo news...
My daughter's club team qualified for the USA Water Polo Junior Olympics!!! WHOOP! WHOOP! :)

Now back to our regularly scheduled stamping fun...

Sprinkles of Life Card #1

Stamps: Sprinkles of Life
Ink: Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe, Cherry On Top DSP
Accessories: Tree Builder Punch, Woodgrain EF, Cucumber Dotted Lace Trim, Dimensionals

Kit Includes:

1 - Daffodil Delight card base
1 - Cucumber Crush embossed card front
1 - Cherry On Top DSP strip with cherry pattern
1 - Cherry On Top DSP strip with Cucumber Crush pattern
1 - Tip Top Taupe piece for stamping
2 - Watermelon Wonder pieces for stamping
1 - Cucumber Crush piece for stamping (not shown)
1 - Cherry On Top DSP square with Daffodil Delight pattern
1 - Whisper White square

Instructions:

Glue Cucumber Crush card front onto Daffodil Delight card base.
Attach Cherry On Top strips to bottom of Cucumber Crush card front. (Glue the cherry pattern first and then the cucumber pattern on top, as I cut the cherry pattern a little "thick" on purpose.)
Stamp the tree trunk image using Chocolate Chip (or any darker brown) ink onto the Tip Top Taupe cardstock. Use Tree Builder punch to cut out.
Stamp two treetop images using Cucumber Crush (or any bright green) ink onto the Cucumber Crush cardstock and cut out with Tree Builder punch.
Stamp the flower stem images along the bottom of your Whisper White square using Cucumber Crush ink.
Stamp the flower image onto the stems using Daffodil Delight ink.
Glue down your "tree trunk" slightly to the left on your square.
Attach both "tree tops" onto the tree trunk. The higher one I glued down and the lower one I attached with Dimensionals.
Stamp the "Spread the Love" sentiment (or any sentiment you like) next to your tree.
Attach your Whisper White square onto the Daffodil Delight pattern square.
Stamp the basket image using Chocolate Chip ink onto the Tip Top Taupe cardstock. Cut out using scissors.
Glue your "basket" on the lower right corner of your card front.
Attach your tree scene using Dimensionals.
Stamp your apple image (One at a time!) using Watermelon Wonder (or any bright reddish pink) ink onto the Watermelon Wonder strips. Punch out using the Tree Builder punch.
Here is a tip on how to get more apples per strip:

Stamp your apple image the "long" way (Remember... One at a time!) on the cardstock and then slide your strip under the cloud area to punch out. This saves so much paper!!
You need a total of 9 apples for this card. (You need one extra "apple" for another card. So just go ahead and punch out 10.)
I cut 3 apples "in half" to make them look like they were inside the basket.

Then I glued 2 more apples above these. I finished it off by layering 3 apples on top of these with Dimensionals.
I also added one apple to my tree using Dimensionals.
Finally, tie the Cucumber Crush Dotted Lace Trim around your card.

Lots of fun little details on this card!!

Sprinkles of Life Card #2

(outside)

(inside)

Stamps: Sprinkles of Life
Ink: Tip Top Taupe, Bermuda Bay
Paper: Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White, Cherry On Top DSP
Accessories: Tree Builder Punch, Circle Flip Card Thinlit, Elegant Dots EF, Washi Label Punch, Candy Dots

Kit Includes:

1 - Watermelon Wonder embossed flip card
1 - Cherry On Top DSP strip with balloon pattern
1 - Pool Party circle
1 - Cherry On Top DSP Daffodil Delight scallop circle
1 - Tip Top Taupe piece for stamping
1 - Cherry on Top DSP piece with "sprinkle" pattern for stamping
1 - Whisper White circle
1 - Whisper White Washi Label punch out

Instructions;

Glue Daffodil Delight scallop to the Pool Party circle.
Glue Pool Party circle to front of flip card.
Adhere the Cherry On Top balloon DSP strip to the right side of card base.
Using Tip Top Taupe ink (or any lighter brown ink) stamp the cupcake bottom image onto the Tip Top Taupe piece. Cut out using scissors.
Stamp the cupcake "frosting" image using Tip Top Taupe ink onto the "sprinkle" pattern DSP. Punch out using the Tree Builder punch.
Attach your cupcake bottom and top to the Daffodil Delight scallop using Dimensionals.
Stamp the "Happy Birthday" sentiment using Bermuda Bay (or any bright blue) ink onto the Whisper White Washi Label punch out.
Glue half of the Washi Label sentiment to the front of the card. The other half is not attached to anything so it "moves" when the card is opened.
Attach the Candy Dots on either side of the sentiment.
Stamp the "Money can't buy happiness..." sentiment to the Whisper White circle using Bermuda Bay ink.
Attach the Whisper White circle to the inside of your card.

And you are done with your first two cards!!!

Tip of the Day:
Always remember to STAMP FIRST!! Stamp before cutting out anything. Stamp before adhering or gluing down anything. This way if you mess up your stamping, you can flip over your paper and try again.

Thanks for hanging with me to the end! I hope you enjoy your first two Sprinkles of Life cards. I will be back tomorrow with the second two. And then I will be MIA for awhile again. I'm heading to Iowa for my girlfriend's daughter's wedding. Just me. By myself. On an airplane. With no responsibilities. Guess I better get packing!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Sprinkles of Life June Online Stamp Club

Hi Stampin' Friends!!

Guess what?! Tomorrow (June 2) is the LAST day you can order out of the current Stampin' Up! Catalog and also out of the Occasions Catalog. It is also the FIRST day you can order out of the NEW Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog.

That means, for ONE DAY ONLY, you can order from all three catalogs!! How fun is that?!

It is also the first day you can join my June Online Stamp Class:

This month I am featuring the Sprinkles of Life (#139971) stamp set found on page 189. And the matching Tree Builder Punch (#138295) found on page 167.

Joining the club is easy. You purchase both items, the stamp set and the punch, using the Hostess Code: Y3WNGDHH before June 21 and I will mail you 4 FREE card kits featuring these adorable products.

An added incentive this month is the fact that the Sprinkles of Life stamp set is also the Ronald McDonald House "Make a Difference" stamp set. Every year Stampin' Up! chooses one stamp set to help support RMHC. For each stamp set that is sold, Stampin' Up! donates $3 to RMHC. To date, they have contributed over ONE MILLION DOLLARS to RMHC and their network of local chapters. How awesome is that?!

Here is a card I created using this darling set:

Stamps: Sprinkles of Life
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Cherry on Top DSP
Accessories: Tree Builder Punch, Large Polka Dot EF, Banner Triple Punch, Ornate Tag Topper Punch, Cherry on Top Washi Tape, Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim, Itty Bitty Heart Punch

A great feature in the new catalog are the "coordinating cardstock" packs. Each one of the Designer Series Paper packs has a coordinating cardstock pack featuring three colors from the DSP. So if you choose to purchase the Cherry on Top DSP, you can also purchase the Cherry on Top Cardstock Pack that has 24 sheets of cardstock. Including 8 pieces each of Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush, and Watermelon Wonder. LOVE this idea!!

This is the card I mailed to my customers along with their copy of new Stampin' Up! catalog. If you would like a catalog, just make a purchase at my online store and I will send you one.
