Stampin' Addicts Occasions Blog Hop!!

Hi Stamping Friends!

Happy New Year!!!  A new year means new stamps!  Stampin' Up! is offering new stamps starting January 5th in their Occasions Mini Catalog.  And today you can see some fabulous sneak peeks on the Stampin' Addicts Occasions Blog Hop.  (This hop does not officially start until noon on the 1st, so if you are early, please be patient while we get all the links working!)

If you have been hopping with us, that means you just came from Melina's blog.  And if you are just joining us, then you can start hopping right here and check out the other talented stampers.  I've got four projects for you using the Stampin' Up! Embosslit die called Scalloped Heart of Hearts item #117332 $11.95.  It is on page 15 of the Occasions Mini catalog.  What a versatile little die this is!

My first card uses the sketch from the Mojo Monday blog MOJO119 and the color challenge from the ColourQ blog CQC13.  Here are the challenge pics:

And here's my card using the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit die:

Don't you just LOVE these colors together?!  Here I used two of the hearts to create a butterfly.  I love how this die embosses AND cuts out the image for you.  So nifty!

This next card also uses the hearts in a unique way.  I saw a card like this on SCS and CASEd the idea, but tweaked it a bit.

Four hearts=one lucky charm!  I love how this turned out!  I don't normally send out St. Patrick's Day cards, but my hubby looked at it and read the sentiment and said I could give it to him for Valentine's Day!  :)  Too funny!  I may just have to do that!

This next card is what I thought I would give to hubby for Valentine's Day.

A nice masculine Valentine card, without a lot of fluff or frills.  Sort of a modern, tailored look.  For this heart, I punched out one red and one black heart.  Then I took the red heart and punched it out with my Large Heart punch.  This cut off the scalloped edge and gave it a great layered look.

My final project was inspired by some flowers I saw in the Stampin' Success magazine (a monthly Stampin' Up! magazine for demonstrators).  The colors for this come from Stacey's Stamping Stage blog ACT10.  Here's the challenge inspiration piece:

And this is my 3-D item for the day:

My flowers are actually Valentine treats, as I used a lollipop for the stick.  My "flower pot" is the Baskets and Blooms die.  These would be fun to make with your kids to give at school.

I hope you enjoyed getting a peek of what you can do with the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit die.  Make sure you put it on your Wish List for your first Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini order!  Now it's time to hop on over to Cindy's delightful blog HEART'S DELIGHT CARDS

Thanks for hopping by!
Happy Stamping!
