Stampin' Up! That's the Ticket Mojo388

Hi Stamping Friends!!

A number of years back I was a card challenge junkie. I seriously needed a 12 step program. I played in every challenge I could find. It was a ton of fun, but also took up a ton of my time so I had to quit. So "for the first time in forever" I am playing in the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Here is my card:

Stamps: That's the Ticket
Paper: Primrose Petals (retired), Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Best Year Ever DSP (SAB), Soft Suede DSP
Accessories: Cupcake Builder Punch, Decorative Dots EF, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Ticket Duo Builder Punch, Pink Pirouette Taffeta Ribbon (retired), Pearl Jewels

Here is what the sketch looks like:

I made about 10 of these cards to use as invites to a Cupcakes, Coffee, and Cardmaking class that I am hosting.

I put them in a clear bag along with a Sale-A-Bration brochure and am handing them out to gals in the neighborhood and moms from my son's class.

I already have 3 RSVP's!! If you are in the North County San Diego area you should come!!

I loved this sketch so much that I decided to use it for our monthly support thank-yous.

24 of them all ready to go!! Just need to sit down and address the envelopes and sign the insides. Easy enough. Except I always get distracted by some stamping thing or another. Like sketch challenges!  :)

For more stamping fun and a peek into my stamping world, you should come hang out with me on Facebook.

Stampin' Up! Calling All Heroes for a Special Friend

Hi Stamping Friends!!

If you've been around the blog long enough, you have heard me mention that our family moved last July. While we LOVE living in North County San Diego, we left many dear family and friends behind in the Central Valley. There is one friend in particular that I consider one of my "super hero" moms. So I sent her this card:

Stamps: Calling All Heroes (This is a photopolymer special release so it is not in any catalog. You can find it in my Stampin' Up! store in the photopolymer section of stamps.)
Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, Island Indigo DSP, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Gold Glimmer
Accessories: Starburst Framelits, Star Itty Bitty Punch, Gold Ribbon

I remember one of the first times I saw LaCinda. She was sliding down the slide with her daughter. ON SUNDAY!! IN HER CHURCH CLOTHES!!! I thought, "Who is this crazy lady?!" But you know what, that is what I love about her most. That she is brave enough to slide down a slide on a Sunday morning because her daughter wants her to. Regardless of who else is around or watching. She has taught me to enjoy the small things, not take myself too seriously, to love Jesus, but mostly to HAVE FUN!!! And I'm a little jealous because she has the world's best hats and fake eyelashes. EVER!

The "Kratt Sisters" at VBS.

Driving down the streets of Tulare in a golf cart. "RIGHT ON!"

Love and miss you friend!!! When are you going to convince that husband of yours to move down here to paradise? ;)

Send a "super hero" a card this week and tell them how much ya love 'em. I dare ya!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Stampin' Up! Celebrate Today Crushed Blackberry

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Today I have the second set of cards from my Celebrate Today February Online Stamp Class.

Crushed Blackberry Card #1

Stamps: Celebrate Today
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White, Moonlight DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry (or Hello Honey)
Accessories: Balloon Framelits, Bow Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon, Rhinestone Jewels

Lay your Moonlight DSP balloon on the Whisper White card front for placement. Stamp the "ribbon tail" stamp with Crushed Curry or Hello Honey ink onto the Whisper White card front. Glue down the Moonlight DSP strip to the bottom of the Whisper White card front. Stamp the "Happy Birthday" sentiment using Blackberry Bliss ink. Attach the Whisper White card front onto the Blackberry Bliss card. Attach the balloon using Dimensionals. Make your Moonlight DSP striped bow using glue dots. Attach to front of card. Tie the ribbon and attach the silver glimmer star. Add the Rhinestone Jewels. Super easy!

One thing I live about the Celebrate Today stamp set is how versatile it is. You can use it for many different occasions. This next card is a graduation card.

Stamps: Celebrate Today
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer, Moonlight DSP
Ink: Crushed Curry (or Hello Honey), Blackberry Bliss
Accessories: Balloon Framelits, Lucky Stars EF, Silver Ribbon

Glue the Smoky Slate star embossed card front onto the Blackberry Bliss card base. Glue the Moonlight DSP strip to the Smoky Slate card front. Stamp the "happy" balloon in Crushed Curry or Hello Honey. Cut out with Balloon Framelit. Cut out one Whisper White balloon using the same Framelit. Stamp the "confetti" using Blackberry Bliss onto the Whisper White balloon. Stamp the "graduation" sentiment (or whatever sentiment you want) on to the Crushed Curry "happy" balloon. Attach both balloons using Dimensionals. Attach the Silver Glimmer "decorations" using Dimensionals. Tie the silver ribbon.

When using Dimensionals on small items, cut the edges of your Dimensional sheets into small pieces.

This way you don't have any pieces of Dimensionals sticking out from the sides.

And there you have it!! Another Online Stamp Class in the books!! I hope you are enjoying making your cards as much as I enjoy designing them.

Stampin' Up! Celebrate Today Coastal Coral

Hi Stamping Friends!!

On Saturday I finally mailed out my Celebrate Today card kits to everyone who joined my February Online Stamp Class. Today I'm going to share two cards from the kit. These cards were CASEd from cards I saw on the internet.

Celebrate Today Coastal Coral #1

Stamps: Celebrate Today
Paper: Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Best Year Ever DSP (SAB)
Ink: Calypso Coral, Soft Suede
Accessories: Balloon Framelits, Cupcake Builder Punch (clouds), Large Scallop Edgelit, Delicate Designs EF, Best Year Ever Coral Ribbon

Be sure to stamp the basket first using Soft Suede ink. Use one of the cutout balloons to use as a template to make sure you have the correct position.

Glue the Best Year Ever DSP (with your stamped basket on it) onto the Crushed Curry card base. Glue the Wild Wasabi "grass" to the DSP. Make your balloon.

I made the air balloon by cutting out four balloons, folding them in half, and gluing them together. Here are a few pics...

Attach the balloon to your card using Dimensionals.

Stamp the "Celebrate" sentiment on to Whisper White cardstock. Hand cut the banner. Attach the "clouds" using Dimensionals. Tie the ribbon. DONE!

Celebrate Today Coastal Coral #2

Stamps: Celebrate Today
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, Crushed Coral, Best Year Ever DSP (SAB)
Ink: Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana
Accessories: Balloon Framelits, Crushed Curry Baker's Twine

Cut out balloons from the Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral cardstock using the balloon Framelit. Stamp the balloons with the polka dot stamp in coordinating ink colors.

When using photopolymer stamps, you get a better stamped image if you stamp onto a cushioned surface, like our Stampin' Pierce Mat. Be aware that if you do stamp on the mat and get ink on the mat, the ink will not dry. Cover your mat with grid paper before you stamp. It will help you from getting ink everywhere. Ask me how I know. ;)

Using regular tape, attach the Crushed Curry Baker's Twine to each balloon making sure to wrap the twine around the "neck" of the balloon.

When you have your balloons ready, layer them on the Coastal Cabana card base. The bottom two balloons are glued onto the card base and the top three balloons are attached with Dimensionals. The balloons should be sticking out over the edges of your card base. The card should look like this...

Flip your card over and using a scissors, trim off the sides and tops of the balloons using your card base as your straight edge.

Bring all of your strings together and attach them to each other with a glue dot. Make a bow with the baker's twine and attach it with a glue dot.

Stamp your sentiment using Coastal Cabana ink on to your card base. Using Coastal Cabana ink, stamp the flags onto Whisper White cardstock. Cut out the flags with the matching Framelit. Attach using Dimensionals.

Sidenote: Even if you did not purchase the Celebrate Today stamp set and matching Balloon Framelits, but you made a qualifying purchase using the appropriate Hostess Code, you will receive a card kit. The kits are versatile enough that you can use them in a variety of ways with a variety of stamp sets. Be creative!! I would love to see what you come up with. :)

I hope this all makes sense!! If not, email or text me your questions and I will try and answer them as best as I can.

Tomorrow I will have the other two cards from the kit to share.

Thanks for stopping by!

UPDATE!! March Online Stamp Class - Sheltering Tree Stampin' Up!

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Because the Butterfly Bascis bundle is currently not orderable, I've changed my March Online Stamp Class to the Sheltering Tree stamp set.

Stamps: Sheltering Tree
Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Mossy Meadow
Accessories: Decorative Dots EF, Burlap Ribbon, Twine (retired)

This card was CASEd from one done by Wendy Weixler. Mine is a little simpler. I was trying to keep it more masculine looking.

I love the Burlap Ribbon, but sometimes it's too large for what I need. For this card I just used my scissors to trim it thinner.

Here are the details of my March Online Stamp Class featuring the Sheltering Tree stamp set:

From now through March 20th, purchase the Sheltering Tree stamp set AND the Hardwood Background stamp from my Stampin' Up! website using the Hostess Code: PM2XM9RC and receive a FREE card kit from me featuring both stamp sets.

Sheltering Tree on page 22 of the Occasions Catalog

Stampin' Up! Thank You Watercolor Notecards

Hi Stamping Friends!!

I need lots of thank you cards every month. Last month I was so busy preparing for my "on the road" classes, that my thank you cards kind of snuck up on me. Since I needed 20 cards fast, I decided to get a head start and use a pack of retired Watercolor Notecards.

I love that Stampin' Up! offers card kits and matching stamps. Because sometimes you just need easy. :)

Here are the five different notecards, straight form the package:

To keep things simple, I chose one sentiment from the Lots of Thanks stamp set and stamped it with Early Espresso ink on all of the cards:

I also stamped a swirl from the Everything Eleanor stamp set with Wild Wasabi ink on some of the cards:

After adding some punches, ribbons, and rhinestones I was finished! Here are the five different cards:

Super quick and easy!! My designs were inspired from others I had seen on the internet. Even though you can no longer purchase the Watercolor Notecards, Stampin' Up! does offer many fabulous card kits on pages 196 through 198 of the catalog. Go check them out!! They are so handy to have on hand when you need a card fast!!

I've been doing lots of stamping this week, just haven't done the blogging thing. If you want to keep up with my "everyday" stamping, find me on Facebook:

I also just started a Stampin' Up! Instagram account: krystals_cards. Would love to have you "follow" me!!!

Found out just a couple of days ago that the Butterfly Basics bundle is not orderable at this time. I'm considering changing this month's online stamp class. I will have details coming soon.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a beautiful weekend.
