Donation Card

Hi Stamping Friends!

Every April I get asked to donate a basket of cards to our local Christian school's silent auction fundraiser.  My kids don't attend the school, but alot of the families from our church send their children there.  Last year, my box of cards sold for well over $100!  I just put a bunch of the cards I've made for my blog in there.  This year, when they contacted me about donating, the lady who has purchased my cards in the past, had made a special request for me to include some sympathy cards in the basket.  So that's why today's card is a sympathy card.

This is the first time I've inked up my my Greenhouse Garden set.  I bought it because right now, through the end of April, it's 20% off.  Gotta love a great sale!  I really like how this turned out.  And I didn't even bother getting out my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and the flower lined up fairly easily.  Of course if you are into perfection, you'll want to use your SAMJ with this set.

The two challenges come from THE COLOR DARE blog and the STAMPING ROYALTY blog.  I really love these colors together.  Such a fresh, spring look.  Probably also has something to do with the fact that my favorite color is GREEN and this challenge doesn't have just one, but TWO greens in it!  Must be my lucky day!

Don't forget to take advantage of the great Two-Step Stampin' Up! deals going on right now!  Click my SHOP NOW button and look for the Promotions page to find out more.

Color Dare for Mom

Hi Stamping Friends!

Do you ever have a card idea in your head and then when you make it, it doesn't turn out at all like you had planned?  Well that's what happened with this card.  I've been thinking about it all week, but when I finally sat down to make it, I was totally disappointed in how it turned out.  I'm sure it didn't have anything to do with the fact that I had very little time to make it and take a pic of it.  Oh well!  My MIL will still appreciate it!

Can you believe that I've had Lovely Letters for about a year and never used them?!  I received them last year as part of my Sale-A-Bration rewards.  I kinda kept forgetting that I had them!  The card base is Tempting Turquoise, layered with Lovely Lilac, and Shades of Spring DSP.  "Mom" is stamped in Pale Plum.  The colors are from the THE COLOR DARE challenge blog.  This is CD63.  The sketch is from the PALS PAPER ARTS challenge blog.  This is challenge PPS38.

I'm still considering starting my own challenge blog.  It would be a weekly inspiration challenge.  I was really excited to be contacted by Candace Lawlor who thought it was a great idea and said she would help me host the challenge.  We've been emailing back and forth and are trying to get it up and running soon.  So if you are a challenge lover/junkie/addict (like I am!)... stay tuned!  I'll keep you updated about what's going on.

Last Chance Cyber Monday Challenge!

Hi Stamping Friends!

I'm so excited because tomorrow is my debut as a guest designer at the Colour Q Challenge blog.  I know it's only a one time deal, but still!  It's my first "designer" appearance and I'm thrilled!  Make sure you check back tomorrow and see what I came up with.  The colors from Arielle are just gorgeous!  It's also "How-To" Tuesday tomorrow, so I will have an old-school photo style tutorial on the Baby Wipe Technique.

Today also wraps up the NaBloPoMo Challenge over at my favorite Stampin' Up! online hangout, Stampin' Addicts.  We were challenged by Yapha to post every day during the month of November.  And I'm happy to say that I accomplished that unbelievable task!  This marks my 30th post for this month.  Wow!  I don't think I'll be able to keep up this pace, especially through the Christmas season, but it sure has encouraged me to blog more.  I went from 7 followers to 20!  And I have been averaging over 500 hits per week.  For me that is HUGE!  Thanks to ALL of you for making it such a success!!

I know!  I know!  Enough rambling!  All you really want to know is... where's the card?!  Well, I do have a card for you today too, not just randomness.  Today's double challenge card gets the color combo from The Color Dare blog CD44 and the sketch is from the Card Patterns blog CPS43.  Here are the challenge pics:

And here's my card:

Very interesting color combo of Real Red, Soft Suede, and So Saffron.  The card base is So Saffron layered with Soft Suede that has been embossed with the Perfect Details Impressions Folder.  The Designer Series Paper is the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  You can't see it in the pic, but it has a beautiful shimmer to it.  The Dahser image was stamped using markers of all three colors.  The Simple Snowflake was stamped with Soft Suede onto So Saffron cardstock and punched with the ornament punch.  The bright red button comes from the Playground Designer Button collection.

It's Cyber Monday.  Time to do all your online holiday shopping.  Today is the LAST DAY to take advantage of the HUGE SALE going on at MY STAMPIN' UP! WEBSITE!  I placed my sale order Saturday and can't wait to get my Cheep Talk Bundle and Thank You Kindly Bundle.  If you don't want to buy for yourself, send hubby, or mom, or best friend over to my website TODAY and have them get you something you really want for Christmas!  Remember to click on the SHOP NOW button and then look for the ONLINE EXTRAVAGANZA link and start saving!
