Stampin' Up! Sheltering Tree Challenges + FREE SHIPPING!!

Hey Stampin' Friends!!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter yesterday. We had a fun, full weekend. The college boy and a friend came and turned my living room into a dorm room (and I LOVED it!). My brother, his wife, and their three adorable daughters came for a too short visit on Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed a beautiful Easter service Sunday morning and then topped it all off with a delicious salmon dinner shared with our neighbor that evening. The best way to enjoy Resurrection Sunday is to share it!!

Lots of fun stuff to blog about today!! First, here is a card I created that is perfect for two online challenges. The Just Add Ink #257 Inspiration Photo Challenge JAI257 and the Pals Paper Arts #246 Color Challenge PPA246.

Stamps: Sheltering Tree
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Calypso Coral
Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White
Accessories: Spring Flowers EF, Circle Framelits, Paper Doily, Coral Seam Binding, Pearl Jewels

I LOVE this color combination. I am going to be so sad when the 2013-2015 In-Colors are retired in June. I've really grown find of them. My favorite is Crisp Cantaloupe. I just can't get enough of it! And it pairs so well with Calypso Coral.

Here are the two challenge inspirations:

If you want to stock up on these In-Colors before they are gone, this week is a great time to do it because Stampin' Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING!!!

Stay tuned for details about my next Online Stamp Class:

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #18

Hi Stamping Friends!  Today's card is for the challenge over at the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge.  Come join the fun!  This week we are celebrating the end of summer with a good old-fashioned crab feed.  I have to be honest.  I grew up in Southern California and I LOVE the beach!  But when I think of the beach, I think of bikinis and surfers and sunscreen and waves.  I don't think of adirondak chairs and crabs and sea grass.  So this was really quite challenging for me!  I guess I'm not very nautical.

ANIMAL STORIES

I used the colors as my inspiration.  Mostly blue and yellow, with a pop of red.  And the most nautical stamp I have is this whale from Animal Stories.  I used a lot of retired things on this card.  The DSP is majorly old and it's a retired color, Brilliant Blue.  Good thing I kept all my Stampin' Spots around to use with all my old DSP!  The ribbon is also retired.  Just a piece I had laying around in my ribbon scraps.  The yellow "fish bowl" was made using the Table Setting die.  I think it's supposed to be a napkin ring.  I cut it half and layered the two pieces to make it smaller.  Then I embossed it with the Square Lattice folder.  You can't even see the seam!

There is one new item on this card.  The scallop was made using the Tasteful Trim die that is now available in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  There are soooooo many things I want out of this catalog!  It's going to be hard to refrain from buying it all!!!  I do have quite the wish list going.  I'm trying to spread it out, so it doesn't look so bad. Another new thing about this card is this is the first time I've played in the Just Add Ink blog challenge.  This is their sketch challenge JAI33.

I hope you have an easier time with this challenge than I did.  I know the SCIC Design Team did a fabulous job, as always!  And we are excited to announce that Erica Cerwin of Pink Buckaroo Designs has joined our DT.  We are super happy to have her on board!!  So go check out the SCIC blog and come celebrate summer with us!

Sock Monkey Saturday

Hi Stamping Friends!

A quick post because I just HAD to make a card today!

I haven't used Mr. Sock Monkey in forever!  I pulled him out because of a color challenge I saw on the web this week. I need to get my club projects finished and get a card done for the ColourQ on Tuesday, so I better keep this short!

The sketch comes from Mercy Kerin's blog: LORD HAVE MERCY.  The color challenge comes from the blog: JUST ADD INK challenge #13.  Bummer I missed the deadline on this one, but I just couldn't pass these colors up!

Hope you are having a fabulous Saturday!
Happy Stamping!
