Refuge and Contraband

Hi Stamping Friends!

Today's card was designed for a friend who will be going on a 2 week mission trip to Fiji.  She wanted to send out some cards asking for friends and family to pray for her.  So I quickly whipped up 15 of these yesterday.

I was in such a hurry to take this pic that I didn't even bother to straighten the ribbon.  It's all wonky!  The cross stamp is from the set called Refuge and Strength.  The green flowers and leaves comes from Thoughts and Prayers.  And the sentiment is from Verve.  That is not the name of the set, that's they name of the (whispers very quietly) "other" stamp company I bought it from.  Did I just hear you GASP?!  I know!  I have to confess.  I do have two other stamp companies that I have purchased from... Verve and Our Daily Bread.  They just have such wonderful Bible verse stamps.  I just couldn't help myself!  Everything else on the card is from SU!  This is the first time I've used my Elegant Bouquet Impressions Folder.  I don't know why I waited so long to purchase it, because it's wonderful!

And since I'm confessing and showing my contraband stamps, I thought I would show you the bookmark I made for all the ladies I went with on my mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

I think I made about 26 of these.  Again the Refuge and Strength cross.  This time paired with the flourish stamp from Friends 24-7.  This verse stamp is also from Verve.  Can you tell I LOVE my Beautiful Wings Embosslit die?  It's hard not to use those adorable butterflies on every card.  They are just the perfect size!  It was so cute, after I had given the each lady their bookmark, some of them asked me to sign the back.  I felt like such an artist.  :)

Friend Pack Card #5

Hi Stamping Friends!

Happy Friday!
Today's card is the last card from my Friends Pack.  I made extra of all five of these cards, so I will have some on hand for myself.  What's great about a "friend" card is you can use it for any occasion!

This card has a total vintage feel to it.  I don't do vintage very well, so I was quite pleased with myself how this turned out. Shelli Gardner, the cofounder and CEO of Stampin' Up! has a beautiful vintage style.  I'm always envious of people that can pull it off so effortlessly!

The card base is Whisper White layered with Kraft that has been embossed with the Damask Texturz plate.  The images are from the Friends 24-7 set and the sentiment is from the True Friend set.  The Pink Pirouette (retired) tag is cut using the Lots of Labels embosslit.  And the flowers are cut using the Birds and Blooms embosslit.  All the edges have been sponged with Soft Suede.

Can you tell that I LOVE my Big Shot?!  There's hardly a card that I make that doesn't require the Big shot for at least one element.  It has been the best craft investment I've ever made!!!  My Cricut is sitting at my cousins house right now, because she needed it for her bulletins boards.  Otherwise that thing hasn't seen the light of day since I got my Big Shot!  If you don't have a Big Shot, now is the best time to order one. You'll receive lots of free stamp sets through our Sale-A-Bration promotion going on now through March 31st.  Don't wait!  Order yours today!

Friend Pack Card #4

Hi Stamping Friends!

I've been working all week to get my cards ready for my birthday stamp camp this weekend.  I can't wait to show them all to you.  I used the Sweet Paper Designer Series Paper pack that is in the Occasions Mini catalog.  But I don't want you to see all the fabulous cards before my stampers do!  So instead I'm going to show you card #4 from the Friends mission card pack:

The card base is Whipser White layered with Cameo Coral.  The DSP is the retired Raspberry Tart.  The images and sentiment are from the Great Friend set.  This is such a beautiful set and perfect for a friend card!  I love that the tag shape matches the tag from the Matchbox die and can be cut out with the Big Shot.

Friend Pack Card #3

Hi Stamping Friends!

Today I have the third card from the Friends Pack of mission cards.

Did you hear me yesterday when I said I LOVE this pack of cards?!  Here's another one that I just adore.  I know it has to be the papers and the colors and the fact that it looks so much like spring and I'm so ready for spring!!

The card base is Whisper White layered with Pretty In Pink that has been embossed with the Petals A Plenty Impressions folder that was in the Holiday Mini catalog.  It's supposed to be Poinsettias, but I think they also make great "regular" flowers too.  The flowers were stamped in Pretty In Pink, Cameo Coral, and Rose Red.  The green is Kiwi Kiss which is retired.  The butterfly is cut using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit folder from the Occasions Mini catalog.  LOVE that folder.  Again, it must be a spring thing.  The sentiment comes form the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.

Friend Pack Card #2

Hi Stamping Friends!

Last week I showed you this card

It's from my Friend Pack for my Cards for Missions Fundraiser.  All week long all be showing you the other 4 cards from the same pack.  For my fundraiser, I sold packs of cards, 5 cards in each pack for $15. Each pack had a different theme: Scripture, Thank You, Thinking of You, etc...  I sold 70 packs of cards!  After hearing that the pre-school where I worked at in the Dominican Republic is in need of funds, I decided to continue selling cards and giving the money to the school.

I've really enjoyed coming up with all the different card packs.  I've used the same 5 layouts for each pack, just changing the colors, stamped images and sentiments.  The Friend Pack has been one of my most favorite packs so far!  I used the retired DSP Raspberry Tart.  LOVE the colors in this DSP!!  Here's another card from the Friend Pack:

I used the Sweetheart stamp set for the leaves, and the With All My Heart set for the flower image and the sentiment.  The colors are Kiwi Kiss (retired), Rose Red, Cameo Coral, Pink Pirouette (retired).  Gotta love the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder out of the Occasions Mini.  It's one of my (many!) favorites items in the Mini catalog.  I also love the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch.  Such a classic shape.  The label was puched out using the Lots Of Labels Sizzlet pack.

1 Layout 2 Cards

Hi Stamping Friends!

Well I've been busy stamping this week.  I'm still catching up with all of my Cards For Missions packs that I need to get finished.  I made 10 packs of the Friends set.  This is my favorite set yet!  I'm also trying to make more cards for my two bakeries where I have my cards for sale, Goodies Cookies and The Frosted Muffin.  Both in Visalia, CA.  So I decided to combine both projects.  I've made 70 cards this week!  I used all the same layouts and just changed the sentiments and sometimes the main image.

Here's a card from the Friend Pack:

And here's a card for the bakeries:

Same card, just changed it up a bit and added a few little extras.  Birthday cards seem to be my best sellers at both bakeries.

The top card uses the Vintage Vogue set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The birthday card uses Happy Moments which you can get FREE now through March 31st through our Sale-A-Bration catalog.  The DSP is one of my all-time favorites, Raspberry Tart.   I was so sad to see it retire, along with all things Kiwi Kiss.

I've also been getting some items ready for the school sale at Central Valley Christian.  I have a huge scrapbook basket, a stamping basket and I'm going to make some Decor Elements tiles.  I have a few other ideas floating through my pea-brain.  I'm just glad that the sale isn't until the end of April.  Hopefully I'll have enough time to get them all done!

Mission Trip/Cards Update

Hi Stamping Friends!

I just wanted to give you a quick update on my rececnt mission trip to the Dominican Republic.  I also have some cards to show you at the end of this post, so don't leave me if you are only here to see SU! goodness!

I had an amazing time in the city of Jarabacoa, D.R. The weather was incredible, the food was fantastic, and being able to witness God's hand at work through the missionaries of Students International was truly a life changing experience.  I have a whole new apprectiation for missionaries and the Kingdom work they selflessly do all over the world.

To help raise funds for my trip, I decided to sell packs of cards, 5 cards for $15.  I had an overwhelming response!  So far I've had 70 packs ordered (I don't have them all made yet, but I did get 28 packs made before I left)!  Now you know why I haven't been blogging much lately.  :)  I raised enough money for myself, my son, and almost enough for my husband as well.  My husband and son will be going to the D.R. this summer with college students from our church. So thank you, to all of you who helped support me through financial gifts and prayers.  They are greatly appreciated!

Here are a few quick pics from my trip, followed by stampin pics of two more card packs I offered for my fundraiser.

Things I Love...

Hi Stamping Friends!

While getting ready for my recent mission trip to the Dominican Republic, the leader told us to bring some photos along of our family, so we could get to know each other a little better.  Well I couldn't just bring a stack of pictures now could I?!  So I created a little mini scrapbook album using the On Board Heart book in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  And at only $4.95, it is a steal!!  These books are fabulous!  I also used the Welcome Neighbor DSP that is available in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Plus lots of hearts and ribbons and all kinds of Stampin' Up! goodness.  Enjoy!

Cards for Missions Update

Hi Stamping Friends!

Way back in September I told you about a mission trip to the Dominican Republic I felt called to go on with a team of women from Students International.  Well it's been awhile since I posted about it.  I've been struggling with how to find support to go on this venture.  The cost is $1700.  And I don't have an extra $17 let alone $1700!  One of the biggest obstacles I've had to overcome (so far!) is my pride.  God has really been chipping away at me on this one.  I didn't realize how hard it would be to ask other people for money!  I finally sent out my letter (of course I made a card!) requesting support.  I sent out 150 cards to family, friends, and fellow church members.  Here is the card that I sent:

Inside I asked for prayer support and monetary support.  I also included an order form for various card packs: birthday, friend, scripture, etc.  I'm selling the packs of 5 cards for $15.  I've already had three people place orders!  And Scott's great uncle already sent a check.  I'm so overwhelmed by God's goodness and provision.

Many people have been asking how they can see the card packs that I have for sale.  So this post will be dedicated to those photos.  I have some pictures taken of some of the card packs and will continue to add more.  Thank you all so much for supporting me on this venture.  God is good!

I will continue to add more photos as time permits.  Thank you to everyone who is helping to make this mission trip possible!  I pray that God's glory will shine all the way to the Dominican Republic!
