1 Colour Q and 2 Sketches

Hi Stamping Friends!

Well I just fell in love with the color challenge over at Arielle's Colour Q blog.  Check this out:

Isn't this a fabulous image?!  I think she said this fabric is called Figgy Pudding.  Well whatever it's name is, it's gorgeous!  I loved these colors so much, I decided to make two cards for this color challenge.  I filed through all my sketch challenge blogs and found two sketches to use.  The first is the Sweet Sunday Sketch from Karen Giron's blog the sweetest thing SSSC45. The second sketch is the Mojo Monday challenge MOJO114.

And here are my two cards:

I told myself I was NOT going to post any more Christmas cards until AFTER Thanksgiving, but with these fabulous colors, how could I resist?!  On both cards the card base is Always Artichoke, layered with Bashful Blue.  The Old Olive colored DSP is from the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper Pack.  The top card uses the Delightful Decorations set and Four The Holidays, both from The Holiday Mini Catalog.  The second card uses the Patterned Pines set that is a Level 1 Hostess Set in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Be sure to check out the color challenge next week at the Colour Q blog, because I get to be the Guest Designer!  Arielle already sent me next's week image, to work with, and let me tell you, I LOVE it.  I have about 3 or 4 card ideas floating around in my head.  So make sure you stop by my blog next Tuesday morning and see what I come up with.

In honor of this being Thanksgiving week, each day I'm posting something I'm thankful for.  So today I picked my wonderful family: mom, dad, siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews.  It's always such a blessing when the people you are related to, are not just family, they're also your friends.  I can't wait to hang-out with everyone on Thanksgiving at my sister's house.  We can talk, laugh, and eat.  And then when we leave, we'll probably complain about each other just a little bit, but that won't stop us from doing it again next time.  My family is dependable, hard-working, and fun.  I'm thankful to God for each and every member.

Don't forget about the HUGE SALE going on at my Stampin' Up! website right now!  Lots of fabulous stampin' goodness at 30%-50% OFF!  You don't want to miss out.  Click on the SHOP NOW button located on the top right corner of MY WEBSITE.

Mojo Throwdown

Hi Stamping Friends!

Today's double challenge card gets the sketch from the Mojo Monday blog MOJO113 and the color combo from the Color Throwdown blog CTD69.  Here are the challenge pieces:

Of course with these colors, I HAD to do another Christmas card!  And I finally cut into my flocked paper from the Christmas Cocoa DSP.  It just needed to be done!  And since Olive was one of the colors, I HAD to use my very favorite Striped Grosgrain ribbon.  Here's my card:

I did tweak the sketch a bit.  I flipped it and had the center strip cover the middle rectangle, instead of go behind it.  I did this simply because I wanted to see my Striped Gorgrain ribbon!  :)  For some of you, this may be considered "cheating".  I used to think the same way.  I'm a rule-follower by nature.  You won't catch me talking on my cell phone while driving!  But I've changed my tune on crafting "rules".  I realized that's what creating is all about.  It's taking an idea and making it your own!  So this is my version of the sketch.  And I hope you enjoy it!

The card base is Chocolate Chip layered with Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP that is FLOCKED!  This is paper that you just have to touch!  The Old Olive DSP comes from the Cottage Wall pack (another fave!).  The sentiment comes from Four The Holidays which is in the Holiday Mini.  The ornament stamp comes from Delightful Decorations set which is also in the Holiday Mini.  It is stamped in Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed with Clear EP.  What I love about this stamp set is the matching punch!  No hand cutting involved.  The Very Vanilla half-pearls come from the Pretties Kit.

Christmas Pals

Hi Stamping Friends!

Well I finally stamped a Christmas card.  It's about time!  I have my family Christmas card all planned out, but it doesn't involve tons of stamping.  It does involve lots of cardstock being cut out with the Big Shot though.  And lots of my favorite Olive Striped Ribbon, but that's all I'm gonna say!  We used to send out about 120 cards each year, but I cut the list down to 100.  As soon as I get our cards mailed out, I'll post pics of them here at the blog.  I wouldn't want anyone to see it too soon!

Today's card combines a fabulous sketch from my favorite Stampin' Up! only online hangout Stampin' Addicts.  They offer a different challenge every day of the week and Thursday is sketch challenge day.  So if you love to play in Stampin' Up! challenges, come join the fun!  We are looking for more players.  This is for challenge SACC35.  The second challenge is a theme challenge from Pals Paper Arts called Christmas Cheer.  Yay!  Christmas!  Here's my card:

The card base is Old Olive layerd with Real Red Textured cardstock.  The DSP panels are from the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit.  The ornament is from Delightful Decorations and is so easy to cut out with the coordinating Ornament Punch!  I added a Circle Fire Rhinestone brad and some silver cord to add a little extra bling.  So fun to finally do Christmas!  I have my club gals coming over Sunday, so I'll be thinking up Christmas projects all week.  Maybe we should just make this card.  Why reinvent the wheel right?!

Punched Again!

Hi Stamping Friends!

Here's another CASEd card using the Trio Flower Punch that is on sale this week at my Stampin' Up! website.  This is a combination of a bunch of different cards I saw over at SCS.

The vase is made using the Delightful Decorations set and Ornament punch out of the Holiday Mini.  The flower stamp is from the Eastern Blooms set.  The sentiment comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The card base is Melon Mambo.  The "vase" is stamped using Melon Mambo Classic Ink.  The flowers are punched out with Rich Razzleberry and have So Saffron brads in the centers.

I'm hoping to get some stamping done today.  I want to play in the Sketch Challenge over at Stampin' Addicts.  And there's a few Color Challenges I want to get to.  'Course that all has to get done between laundry, housecleaning, and homeschooling!

Trio Flower Punch  #109183  reg. $15.95  SALE $10.99
