Stampin' Up! Playful Pals Jungle Elephant

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Today I have my fourth and final card from my Playful Pals Online Card Class. It features a silly jungle elephant.

Stamps: Playful Pals, Perfect Pairings (SAB)
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Botanical Gardens DSP
Accessories: Pyramid Pals Thinlits, Botanical Builders Framelits (leaves), Hello Honey Ribbon (retired)

I just love how my backyard bushes actually look like the jungle pattern of the Botanical Gardens DSP!!

Kit Includes:

1 - Mossy Meadow card base
1 - Botanical Garden DSP card front
1 - Cajun Craze rectangle
1 - Whisper White rectangle
1 - Smoky Slate sheet for stamping
1 - Whisper White small piece for stamping
2 - Mossy Meadow leaves
2 - Old Olive leaves
1 - Roll of Hello Honey ribbon... My gift to you!!!

These are the stamps I used to create the elephant:

Instructions:

Attach Botanical Gardens DSP to the Mossy Meadow card base.
Stamp any sentiment onto the larger Whisper White rectangle using Basic Black ink. Stamp near the bottom.
Attach the Whisper White rectangle onto the Cajun Craze rectangle.
Attach both pieces to the center of the card front.
Stamp the elephant shapes onto the Smoky Slate sheet. Keep in mind that there is only one "ear" Framelit. You will either have to cut out a blank ear and then stamp on it. Or stamp an ear and cut it out by hand for the ear that does not match the Framelit.

Make sense?
After stamping the pieces, cut them out using the Pyramid Pals Thinlits.
Stamp the eyes onto the smaller Whisper White rectangle and use the small circle that comes with the Pyramid Pals Thinlits to cut out. I tried using a circle punch, but it was not small enough and the elephant looked kind of goofy.
Assemble your elephant. I used Dimensionals to attach the eyes.
Attach your elephant to the card front using Dimensionals.
Attach the leaves to the card front using Liquid Glue or Glue Dots. Make sure you tuck them under the elephant's chin.
Tie the Hello Honey around the top.

Now you are all done and you have four cute cards to give to some of your favorite peeps!! I just love how fun and versatile this set is. It would be a lot of fun to use with a group of kids.

Stampin' Up! Playful Pals De Leeuw

Hi Stamping Friends!!!

Today I have "de Leeuw' Playful Pals card for you. :)

My husband and I are both from Dutch ancestry. His surname, De Leeuw, literally means "the lion".

Thus the reason for the separation between "de" and "Leeuw". They are two different words. It is thought that the first bearers named "(from) the Lion" were after a house, windmill, or farm with that name. Also why traditionally the "d" in "de" is lowercase and the "L" in "Leeuw" is uppercase. Lion being the proper name of an actual location.

Interesting probably only to me. So on to our card!!

Stamps: Playful Pals, Sunburst Sayings (sentiment)
Ink: Hello Honey, Delightful Dijon, Basic Black
Paper: Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe, Delightful Dijon, Go Wild DSP
Accessories: White Jute Ribbon, Washi Label Punch, Circle Framelits

Kit Contains:

1 - Whisper White card base
1 - Tip Top Taupe card front
1 - Go Wild DSP sheet (the kit has a different pattern than my card)
1 - Delightful Dijon large circle
1 - Whisper White medium circle
1 - Whisper White sheet for stamping
1 - Whisper White washi label
1 - White Jute Ribbon piece

Here are the stamps I used to create "de Leeuw":

Instructions:

Attach the Tip Top Taupe card front onto the Whisper White card base.
Attach the Go Wild DSP to the Tip Top Taupe card front.
Stamp the lion "head in the center of the Whisper White circle using Delightful Dijon ink. (You will stamp a second "head" later and cut it out, but you need to know where to place your "mane".) Also pay attention to the shape of the head. It is slightly smaller on one end than the other. It's amazing what a difference this makes. I used the wider end for the top of his head.
Using Hello Honey ink, stamp his "mane" around his head.
Using Delightful Dijon ink, stamp the curly cues on top of the mane.
Stamp a second head using Delightful Dijon ink onto the Whisper White sheet. Cut it out with scissors.
Stamp the lions face using Basic Black ink. Also notice that there are two different sets of eyes. I used the "wide" set of eyes for his face. And the triangle of his nose has the tip pointing down.
Attach the Whisper White circle onto the Delightful Dijon circle.
Attach the Delightful Dijon circle onto the Go Wild DSP card front using Dimensioanls.
Attach the lion's face onto the Whisper White circle using Dimensionals.
Trim your White Jute Ribbon to fit. Attach with Glue Dots.
Stamp any sentiment onto the Whisper White washi label.
Attach label with Dimensionals.

And you are all done!!! You have a cute card and a short Dutch lesson. ;)

If you enjoy the cards from my Online Card Classes, I have openings in my current class featuring the A Nice Cuppa Bundle. Here are the details:

Stampin' Up! Playful Pals Sweet Mouse

Hi Stamping Friends!!

It's day number two for my Playful Pals Online Stamp Class. Today's card features a cute, little tail-less mouse.

Stamps: Playful Pals, Six-Sided Sampler (sentiment)
Ink: Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss
Paper: Pool Party, Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Hello Honey, Whisper White, Wildflower Meadow DSP
Accessories: Pyramid Pals Thinlits (grass), Calypso Marker, Black Marker, Smoky Slate Marker (which I don't own!), Flower Medallion Punch, Circle Punch, Fun Flower Punch (leaf), Bitty Butterfly Punch

Kit Includes:

1 - Pool Party card base
1 - Wildflower Meadow DSP card front
1 - Whisper White card for stamping
1 - Old Olive piece to cut out "grass" using Thinlits
1 - Old Olive strip for flower stem
1 - Calypso Coral flower medallion
1 - Hello Honey circle
1 - Old Olive "leaf"
1 - Bitty butterfly

Here are the stamps I used to create the mouse:

Instructions:

Attach the Wildflower Meadow DSP to the Pool Party card base.
Stamp your mouse onto the Whisper White piece using Smoky Slate ink. If you do not have Smoky Slate, you could use a soft brown like Crumb Cake and make a little brown mouse.
Stamp the eyes using Basic Black ink.
Using a Calypso Coral marker, draw on a small nose. You could also use a Real Red or Melon Mambo marker.
Using a Basic Black marker, draw on some whiskers.
If you have a Smoky Slate marker, (which I do NOT and is the reason why my mouse is tail-less) draw on a tail on the left side. Kind of like a long stretched out S. I saw one online and it looked so much cuter with the tail!!! You can find it on my Playful Pals Pinterest board.
Cut out the "grass' using the Old Olive piece and your Pyramid Pals Thinlits. You will need to cut two.
Using a scissors, cut the grass so it is kind of wavy and not perfectly straight.
Attach the grass to the bottom of your Whisper White piece. The Fine-tip Glue Pen works best. Trim if necessary.
Attach your Whisper White rectangle to your card front. Notice I did not have you attach this piece until AFTER you stamped and drew your mouse. That way in case you make any mistakes, you can start over on the backside of your Whisper White piece, or get another piece of cardstock. You don't want to attach it first and then make a big stamping mess. You're welcome. ;)
Using Blackberry Bliss ink (or Basic Black) stamp any sentiment that you have.
Attach the Old Olive "stem". Make sure to tuck in under the "grass".
Attach the Hello Honey circle to the center of the Calypso Coral Flower Medallion using Dimensionals.
Attach your flower to the top of the stem using Dimensionals.
Trim your "leaf" if necessary. Attach using Dimensionals.
Attach butterfly using Dimensionals.

This card is very simple to create. The instructions take longer to type out than it actually takes to make the card!! :)

All of my Playful Pals critters were inspired by other creations I saw on the internet.

Stampin' Up! Playful Pals Hoppy Frog

Hi Stamping Friends!!

I'm so excited to share my Playful Pals Card Kits with you this week!! I had a blast creating them. It's such a super fun set to play with.

All of my cards were inspired by cards that I saw on the internet. So much creativity out there!!!

Stamps: Playful Pals, Celebrate Today (birthday), Alphabet Rotary Stamp (hoppy)
Ink: Garden Green (frog), Pool Party (sentiment)
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Garden Green Pool Party, Shine On DSP
Accessories: Pyramid Pals Thinlits, Circle Punch, Decorative Dots EF, Pool Party Cotton Ribbon

Here is what each kit contains:

1 - Wild Wasabi card base
1 - Garden Green embossed card front
1 - Shine On strip
1 - Pool Party strip
1 - Wild Wasabi sheet for stamping
1 - Pool Party circle
1 - Pool Party cotton ribbon

The Playful Pals stamp set contains LOTS of little pieces. I thought it would be helpful to show which stamps I used to create each animal.

Instructions:

Adhere the Garden Green card front to the Wild Wasabi card base.
Attach the Shine On DSP strip to the top of the card, leaving a quarter inch at the top.
Stamp the wavy stamp onto the Pool Party strip using Pool Party ink. Soft Sky ink would also work. Attach it to the bottom of the card front.
Stamp your frog pieces onto the Wild Wasabi cardstock using Garden Green ink.

STAMPING AND THINLIT TIP:
There is no Thinlit for the frog's "head". That piece you will need to cut out by hand.
Also, there is only one Thinlit for the legs. You can stamp the one leg that coordinates with the Thinlit and use the Thinlit to cut it out. But for the opposite leg you will either have to cut it out with the Thinlit BEFORE stamping or just cut it out by hand after you stamp it. Your choice. I stamped mine after I cut it out with the Thinlit.
Here's a little visual...

Clear as mud? Email me if you need more clarification.
Stamp, cut out, and assemble your frog. I used Dimensionals to give him more depth.
Stamp whatever sentiment you want. The Alphabet Rotary Stamp is fun to create personalized sentiments.
Attach your frog and sentiment using Dimensionals.
Tie the Pool Party Cotton Ribbon to the top of your card.

Your first Playful Pals card is ready to send!!

From My Heart - FMH05 - Blessed by God

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Many of you know that my husband graduated from seminary a couple of years and our family moved to North County San Diego to start a church. Can I just say this here amongst friends... Church planting is hard!! But God is so good. Every month He supplies us with the financial means to keep moving forward on this surprising journey.

Each month I send out thank you cards to all of our supporters. This month I had wanted to get the cards out before Easter, but they got mailed the Monday after Easter. Whoops!

Stamps: Blessed by God, Kinda Eclectic
Ink: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Baked Brown Sugar
Paper: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Blushing Bride DSP (retired)
Accessories: Pear Jewels, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Organdy Ribbon (retired)

I love the name of the this stamp set... Blessed by God, because it is so true!!! We are blessed every day beyond our wildest imaginations. And I also adore this sentiment.

My mom's family has been struck with three unexpected deaths within the last eight months. The latest being my 57 year old cousin who passed away four months after she found out she had cancer.

It is so very important to me that the people in my life know how much they mean to me. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. So make sure your people know how much you love them and what a blessing they are to you.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3New International Version (NIV)

13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

It's probably why I love cardmaking so much. Every card I send is like sending a little piece of my heart in the mail. Someone described a handmade card as a hug with a fold in the middle. That makes me smile.

I encourage you to make and mail a card this week for someone important in your life and tell them how much they mean to you. I know it will be the highlight of their week. :)

If you are looking for a daily scripture plan, this is my favorite!! I already filled one journal for the year. SWEET BLESSINGS

Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Stampin' Up! Playful Pals Pound Puppy

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Next week I will be sharing all of the supplies and instructions for my Playful Pals Online Stamp Class. This is one that did not make the cut. It ended up being sent to "the pound". ;)

Stamps: Playful Pals, Crazy About You (sentiment)
Ink: Sahara Sand, Tip Top Taupe, Soft Suede, Tangelo Twist
Paper: Mossy Meadow, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder, Tangelo Twist
Accessories: Pyramid Pals Framelits, Banner Triple Punch, Tree Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Flower Punch, Candy Dots

Isn't he just the cutest?!  I had a hard time choosing what to create for the kits because there are just so many adorable animals being made with the Playful Pals set. I did decide to make only cards and no triangle boxes. You can always make a triangle box to match. :)

Be sure to stop by next week and see the four cards that were included in the FREE kit. And if you are interested in joining one of my Online Card Classes and receiving a FREE card kit in the mail from me, here are the details of my current class - A Nice Cuppa:
