ColourQ Tuesday #55

Hi Stampers!  In honor of Breast Cancer Awarness month, Arielle found these adorable rain boots as our color inspiration this week for the ColourQ.  Pink and black is such a classic combination.  I couldn't wait to make my card this week.  And for once, I wasn't the last one to upload my card for Arielle.  It's a miracle I tell ya!!

RIBBON OF HOPE

For this card I used one of Stampin' Up!s "a la carte" stamps called Ribbon of Hope.  I've had the stamp for awhile, but had never inked it up  This was the perfect opportunity to get it dirty.  The card base is Pretty In Pink.  The black polka dot DSP is from the current Neutrals Pattern DSP Stack.  The Pink Pirouette polka dot DSP is from the retired Sweet Pea stack (LOVED that stack!) and the Regal Rose polka dot DSP is retired from last years big catty.  It's called Sweet Always, which was another one of my favorite DSPs.  The sentiment comes from a retired set called Refuge and Strength.  It's one of those sets that I will never part with.

Of course I had some help with this fabulous sketch.  It's from the weekly sketch challenge over at my favorite Stampin' Up! only online hangout: Stampin' Addicts.  If you love SU! as much as I do, you should stop on over sometime.  They have an awesome SUO gallery that is organized by stamp set.  It's a great place to get ideas and meet other SU! fans.

Make sure to stop by the ColourQ and see all the gorgeous cards the rest of the design team has created.  And while your there, why don't you upload a creation of your own!!  We would love to have you play along with us this week.

And don't forget about Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Almost everyone I know, knows someone who has been affected by this terrible disease.  Within the last 2 years, I've had two of my stamp club ladies who fought this battle.  Thankfully, they both won.  I wish it was called Breast Cancer Cure month, because I look forward to the day when we can finally STAMP out cancer.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #24

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Well guess what we are celebrating this week at the Stampin' Celebration challenge... PUMPKINS!!  I hope you will play with us this week!  I love all the adorable ways these pumpkins are decorated.  And the cool thing about just adding some ribbon or paint to your pumpkins is that they will last longer and you can keep decorating with them all the way through Thanksgiving!

AUTUMN HARVEST

I created this cute little jack-o-latern using the Autumn Harvest set.  I just stamped him onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock, cut him out, and popped him on with some dimensionals.  I'm really lovin' the new bat punch.  Such a quick little Halloween accent.  The Pumpkin Pie DSP is called Island Oasis.  It was from the Summer Mini Catalog.  The fun layout comes from the Clean and Simple blog.  This is Fall-To-Layout 111.  It also fits the Stampin' Royalty Spooky Kooky challenge, SR41.

Remember to stop by the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge blog and check what the other design team members have created.  I'll while your there, upload your own spook-tacular pumpkin creation!!

Thanks for stopping by!

It's ColourQ day!!

Hi Stamping Freinds!

Shhhh!!  Don't tell anyone, but this was supposed to be posted hours ago!!!  I finally had the chance this afternoon to take the picture.  Ah well!  Such is life.  Aren't these colors that Arielle (from the ColourQ) picked out this week fabulous!!!  I love purple and green for halloween.  And when they combined with the classic orange and black, they create a fun and funky spooktacular look.  I also think the candy dish in the inspiration pic is so cute!  So I just HAD to go with a halloween inspired card today.

GREETING CARD KIDS

I just adore the images in the Greeting Card Kids.  The little kids are absolutely darling.  I just wish I was better at watercoloring, or even coloring in with markers.  But those are skills I have not yet acquired.  Of course it doesn't help when halfway through the project, you realize you need to replace your Old Olive marker, because it barely works and is so frayed, you can't make a straight line.  Oh my!  Thankfully the image is a little blurred and you can't tell quite how awful it really is.  This great sketch comes from Taylored Expressions.  It is sketch TESC131.

I hope you can play along with us this week at the ColourQ.  We would love to see what these colors inspire you to create!

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #23

Hi Stamping Freinds!!

Fall has finally arrived in the Central Valley!!!  I actually could wear jeans this week.  And today I even wore "shoes" (that is anything with a closed toe, a.k.a., not flip flops!).  I love fall, so I was super excited to see the fabulous inspiration pics form the the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge.  My 5yo DS keeps asking when we are going to get out our "pumpkin patch" decorations.  After seeing these photos, I may have to do that this weekend.  If I can squeeze it in.  I was able to squeeze in a little stamping today, and actually made a card for the challenge (a little late, but it's least I got it in before the end of the day!).

FALLING LEAVES

Seems like every other card I'm making these days has a daisy or sunflower on it.  I love the daisy die for that.  I love the colors in the pics.  I chose to use Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, and Very Vanilla.  I added a few "falling leaves" with dimensionals.  I had to.  I stamped a little to aggresively on the top PP leaf and stmaped the edge.  I don't like messy stamping, so I had to figure a way to cover it up.  Remember, there are no mistakes in stamping... only reasons for extra creativity!  This fabulous sketch comes from my favorite online Stampin' Up! community... Stampin' Addicts.  Every Thursday they have a new sketch challenge.  This is last weeks sketch.  Come stop by and say hi.  It's a super friendly place.

I hope you are enjoying the start of the fall season in your neck of the woods.  Celebrate with me and play along with us this week at the Stampin' Celelbration Inspiration Challenge.  We would love to see your fabulous creations!!

ColourQ #53

Hi Stamping Friends!

You know the old saying, "Better late than never."?  Well that's the story of my life right now!  Typically, I am not a person who likes to be late.  I have a friend who is (almost) always late to everything!  We know this and expect it and love her anyway.  :)  But I'm not usually like that... not usually!  Except somehow I jumped on this merry-go-round called "high school aged child" and I don't know when I'm going to get off!  So until it slows down, (which doesn't look like anytime soon!) I'm thinking I might be late more often than I like!

Thankfully, Arielle over at the ColourQ is one of those super sweet, little southern gals.  (She called me once and I just melted over her southern accent!)  And she is soooooo accomodating to  flaky  busy moms like myself.  So just this morning (it IS still morning on the west coast!) I whipped up this card and was actually happy with how it turned out!

AVIARY

Such super fun colors this week!!  The card base is Baja Breeze layered with a piece of Island Oasis DSP.  The Pear Pizzazz DSP is from the In Color Paper Stack.  The Baja flower is made using the Cherry Blossom Sizzlet Die.  And the "hello" sentiment comes from the Hello Again set.  I got this set free during SAB last year and the only stamp I've used so far is this one.  But I've used it a TON of times!  I love that one little word.  :)  Of course in a rush like this to make a card, there was no way I could come up with a sketch of my own, so I used the Karen Giron's sketch over at the sweetest thing blog.

I hope you can play along with us this week over at the ColourQ.  Remember, don't be late like me!  Link your card by Sunday at noon and you could be crowned the next Colour Queen!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
