ColourQ #69

Hi Stamping Friends!!
It's Tuesday and time for another color challenge from the ColourQ!  Arielle threw us what she referred to as a color "curveball" this week.  I'm tellin' ya, that girl is keeping me on my stamping toes!!  Don't these colors even look a little "spicy" to you?  After last week's fiasco, I was determined not to let these colors get the best of me.  And guess what... they didn't!  I was pleasantly surprised with the results.

AVIARY

This is such an exciting stamping week for me for two reasons...

ColourQ #53

Hi Stamping Friends! 

You know the old saying, "Better late than never."?  Well that's the story of my life right now!  Typically, I am not a person who likes to be late.  I have a friend who is (almost) always late to everything!  We know this and expect it and love her anyway.  :)  But I'm not usually like that... not usually!  Except somehow I jumped on this merry-go-round called "high school aged child" and I don't know when I'm going to get off!  So until it slows down, (which doesn't look like anytime soon!) I'm thinking I might be late more often than I like!

Thankfully, Arielle over at the ColourQ is one of those super sweet, little southern gals.  (She called me once and I just melted over her southern accent!)  And she is soooooo accomodating to  flaky  busy moms like myself.  So just this morning (it IS still morning on the west coast!) I whipped up this card and was actually happy with how it turned out!

AVIARY

Such super fun colors this week!!  The card base is Baja Breeze layered with a piece of Island Oasis DSP.  The Pear Pizzazz DSP is from the In Color Paper Stack.  The Baja flower is made using the Cherry Blossom Sizzlet Die.  And the "hello" sentiment comes from the Hello Again set.  I got this set free during SAB last year and the only stamp I've used so far is this one.  But I've used it a TON of times!  I love that one little word.  :)  Of course in a rush like this to make a card, there was no way I could come up with a sketch of my own, so I used the Karen Giron's sketch over at the sweetest thing blog.

ColourQ Tuesday #42

Hi Stamping Friends!  Well I finally have a card for Arielle's ColourQ challenge.  I don't know how many weeks I've missed.  I've been such a slacker Design Team member this summer, I'm surprised she hasn't booted my behind right off the team!!  But she is such a sweetie, I  know even if she wanted to (beacuse I do deserve it!), she would never do that.  The ColourQ color challenge is one of the reason I became addicted to doing stamping challenges.  I love the pieces Arielle picks out each week.  She has a great sense of style.  And the colors combos are always so... challenging!  This week I combined the cQc colors with the Fall To Layout challenge over at the Clean & Simple blog.  Here's what I came up with:

AVIARY

This is one of the first sets I ordered out of the new catalog.  I just thought those birds and bird cages were too stinkin' cute!!  The DSP is retired, but it fit the Tangerine Tango requirement.  And since I haven't purchased any of the new DSP (yet!) I had to go with what I had.  These would be fabulous colors for the fall season.  I know I'm always apologizing for my photos lately.  I just don't know why they are so horrible!  I've tried different settings, different lighting, etc., etc., and it just doens't seem to make any difference.  So I guess I'll just have to add to each of my posts... this card is much cuter IRL.  :)
