ColourQ #61

Hi Stamping Friends!!  I can't believe the Christmas season is upon us!!  And I've been in the Christmas mood all weekend, since we decorated our tree and got out all our garlands and nativity sets.  We have only a few other details to finish, then the decorating is done!  So naturally, I thought I would make a Christmas card for Arielle's ColourQ challenge.  But she didn't make it easy on me.  I love these colors together.  I think they would make an awesome boy birthday card.  But I really wanted to try them as a Christmas card.  Now that was a challenge!!

SNOW SWIRLED

Not sure if I pulled it off completely, but it works.  I should have taken a little extra time and heat embossed my snowflakes with white EP.  They would have really popped off the blue that way.  But it is such a pain for me to get out all the "stuff" and then turn right around and put it all away.  Just call me a lazy stamper.  :-)  The card base is Wild Wasabi, layered with Tempting Turquoise.  The polka dot DSP is from the Brights Color Stack.  The snowflakes from teh Snow Swirled set are stamped with white Craft ink onto Pacific Point cardstock.  Don't you just love the little bit of bling the Basic Rhinestones add?  I don't know what I did before Stampin' Up! sold these little keepers.  I think I could put them on every card!

The fun sketch comes from my favorite Stampin' Up! only hangout, Stampin' Addicts.  They have weekly sketch challenges that you can play in any time.  This is sketch SASC54, originally posted on May 27, 2010.  But since there is no time limit to the challenge, I'm playing along now.  If you love Stampin' Up!, come check us out sometime!!  You'll love the alphabetized gallery.

Be sure to stop by the ColourQ and check out what the other design team members have created.  And I hope you can play along with us!!

ColourQ Tuesday #60

Just a quick post today, as I'm feeling a little under the weather.  But since I finally had a chance to do my ColourQ Design Team work, I wanted to share it with you!

CHRIST IS BORN

It was fun to finally get out a Christmas stamp set.  I really starting to look forward to the holiday season.  After stamping this card, I decided to use this set for my own personal Christmas card.  I'll post it after I send it out.  This sketch comes from a new-to-me sketch blog called Sketch Frenzy Friday.  I added a few elements to the original sketch.  I hope they don't mind!

I hope you can play with us at the ColourQ this week!

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #29

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Well it's been awhile since I've posted to my blog.  Such a busy time of year!!  But that doesn't mean I haven't wanted too!  I finally had time last night to make a card for the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge.  Aren't these pictures just absolutely gorgeous?!!  I love the simple color palette.  So pretty!

PAISLEY PRINTS

I really loved the golden leaves on the napkins.  Plus, I just had to use my paisley leaf one more time before fall is behind us.  I can't believe next week is Thanksgiving already!!

The card base is Soft Suede, layered with Very Vanilla that has been embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper IF.  The piece of DSP is from the Deck The Halls pack in the Holiday Mini.  I love that set of paper.  So many gorgeous patterns.  The sentiment is from the Word Play set.  The leaf is stamped in More Mustard and hand cut.  I sponged all the edges with Soft Suede ink to give it a vintage look.  The button is from the Nuetrals Collection.  I LOVE SU! buttons!!  They are fabulous!

This great sketch comes from my favorite SUO online hangout, Stampin' Addicts.  The have a new sketch posted every Thursday.

Since it is Thanksgiving next week in the USA, the SCIC challenge will last two weeks, instead of the regular one.  That should give you plenty of time to play along!!  Be sure to stop by and see what the other talented design team members have created.

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #27

Hi Stamping Friends!
It's time for another Stampin' Celebration Inpsiration challenge!!  Don't you just love the colors of autumn?!  I have been to numerous fall weddings and they are so gorgeous.  We just attended a wedding in October and the colors were Kiwi Kiss, Concord Crush, and Early Espresso.  It was beautiful!!  I just fell in love with these photos when I saw them.  All the different shades of orange and green, with a hint of chocolate.  Fabulous!

FIFTH AVENUE FLORAL  $24.95

I chose to use Tangerine Tango, Peach Parfait, and Pear Pizzazz, with a touch of Old Olive.  I stamped the Fifth Avenue Floral images in Early Espresso and then cut them out.  For the leaves, I embossed a piece of Pear Pizzazz with the Square Lattice Impression Folder.  Then I sponged some Old Olive onto the raised impression.  Next, I cut them out using the Little Leaves Sizzlet die.  Adds some fun texture instead of plain old leaves, don't ya think?!

Of course I had to add some Basic Pearls.  I just love those and the Basic Rhinestones.  Since they are self stick, they are soooo easy to use.  Plus, I love that they come in different sizes.  This tiny size is perfect for these flowers.

The sentiment comes form the Oval All set.  The DSP is from the Pattern Paper Stack.  It is Tangerine Tango.  Also, this awesome sketch comes from the gals over at the Just Add Ink blog.  So glad there are so many talented sketch artists out there for me to "borrow" from.  :)

I hope you can play along with us this week at the SCIC!!  Even if you can't join us, make sure you stop by and check out the other gorgeous creations from our super talented desgin team.

ColourQ #57

Hi Stamping Friends!!  I'm back!!  Did ya even miss me?  It's been forever since I had a chance to stamp or even to blog.  I would list all the excuses of why, but I wouldn't want to bore you.  Instead, I'll just show you something I finally stamped for Arielle's ColourQ color challenge.

PAISLEY PRINTS  $12.95

At my Ocotber Hostess Stamp Club gathering, I showed the gals the "thumping" technique.  They loved the look, so I decided to use it on my card for today.  This technique looks gorgeous on the Paisley Prints set that is in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  And it is so easy to do.  For the pumpkin, I inked up the entire stamp in More Mustard.  Then I "thumped" the image with the side of brush markers, in random patterns.  I used Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and the retired (but still loved) Taken With Teal.  I'm so glad I kept all my retired markers.

The sentiment is from the Three Little Words set.  And the fabulous sketch comes from my favorite Stampin' Up! online hangout... Stampin' Addicts.  If you love SU! and are looking for awesome ideas, stop by SA and check out the alphabetized gallery.  There are some really beautiful projects there.  They also have lots of great tips and tricks and of course the latest Stampin' Up! news.  Plus, they have weekly challenges that you can participate in, whenever you want!

This was supposed to be the last week of waterpolo games.  But it looks like our team may go to play-offs, so who knows when I'll get off this merry-go-round.  Besides, after waterpolo comes swimming and then summer leagues and then we start all over again.  :-)  Gotta love when your kids schedule dictates your schedule.  I'll try to squeeze in some stamping when I can.  Thanks for hanging in there with me!!
