Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #29

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Well it's been awhile since I've posted to my blog.  Such a busy time of year!!  But that doesn't mean I haven't wanted too!  I finally had time last night to make a card for the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge.  Aren't these pictures just absolutely gorgeous?!!  I love the simple color palette.  So pretty!

PAISLEY PRINTS

I really loved the golden leaves on the napkins.  Plus, I just had to use my paisley leaf one more time before fall is behind us.  I can't believe next week is Thanksgiving already!!

The card base is Soft Suede, layered with Very Vanilla that has been embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper IF.  The piece of DSP is from the Deck The Halls pack in the Holiday Mini.  I love that set of paper.  So many gorgeous patterns.  The sentiment is from the Word Play set.  The leaf is stamped in More Mustard and hand cut.  I sponged all the edges with Soft Suede ink to give it a vintage look.  The button is from the Nuetrals Collection.  I LOVE SU! buttons!!  They are fabulous!

This great sketch comes from my favorite SUO online hangout, Stampin' Addicts.  The have a new sketch posted every Thursday.

Since it is Thanksgiving next week in the USA, the SCIC challenge will last two weeks, instead of the regular one.  That should give you plenty of time to play along!!  Be sure to stop by and see what the other talented design team members have created.

Thanks for stopping by!

ColourQ #57

Hi Stamping Friends!!  I'm back!!  Did ya even miss me?  It's been forever since I had a chance to stamp or even to blog.  I would list all the excuses of why, but I wouldn't want to bore you.  Instead, I'll just show you something I finally stamped for Arielle's ColourQ color challenge.

PAISLEY PRINTS  $12.95

At my Ocotber Hostess Stamp Club gathering, I showed the gals the "thumping" technique.  They loved the look, so I decided to use it on my card for today.  This technique looks gorgeous on the Paisley Prints set that is in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  And it is so easy to do.  For the pumpkin, I inked up the entire stamp in More Mustard.  Then I "thumped" the image with the side of brush markers, in random patterns.  I used Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and the retired (but still loved) Taken With Teal.  I'm so glad I kept all my retired markers.

The sentiment is from the Three Little Words set.  And the fabulous sketch comes from my favorite Stampin' Up! online hangout... Stampin' Addicts.  If you love SU! and are looking for awesome ideas, stop by SA and check out the alphabetized gallery.  There are some really beautiful projects there.  They also have lots of great tips and tricks and of course the latest Stampin' Up! news.  Plus, they have weekly challenges that you can participate in, whenever you want!

This was supposed to be the last week of waterpolo games.  But it looks like our team may go to play-offs, so who knows when I'll get off this merry-go-round.  Besides, after waterpolo comes swimming and then summer leagues and then we start all over again.  :-)  Gotta love when your kids schedule dictates your schedule.  I'll try to squeeze in some stamping when I can.  Thanks for hanging in there with me!!

Thanks for stopping by!

ColourQ #51 and some fun news!!

Hi Stamping Friends!!!  We've got some gorgeous colors for you to play with this week at the ColourQ. Aren't they fabulous?!  What I want to know though, is who is going to wear that hat?!  It looks like one of those old-fashioned bathing caps that had all those flowers stuck on it.  Anyhoo!  There are so many different directions I could have went with this combo.  They make beautiful springtime colors, and are also great for soft, citrusy summer colors.  But since there is a coolness in the air (finally!) and the harvest season has begun, I went a random route and decided to use them for fall colors.

PAISLEY PRINTS

I chose to use the Paisley Prints set which is available in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  The card base is So Saffron, layered with some Old Olive DSP from the Play Date pack.  The Peach Parfait DSP comes from the In Colors DSP stack.  The "Grateful" sentiment is from the Falling Leaves set.  Isn't the layout fun?!  I love a good layout, and since I never can come up with any of my own, I always have to use someone elses!!  This layout is from the Create With Connie and Mary blog.

And now for some fun news.... I'm in a magazine!  Well, not just me, but the whole ColourQ Royal Court design team!!!  The ColourQ blog is featured in the October issue of Creating Keepsakes.  And since my picture is on the blog, my picture is now in CK!!  How fun is that?!  I'm not sure what page it's even on, since I don't have a copy of the magazine... yet!!  It may not be quite as exciting as "getting published", but at least I can say I was in a magazine!  From what I understand, you actually have to send the cards in to get them published.  How silly is that?!  I mean really!! I barely have enough time to make the cards.  You think I'm going to send them somewhere?!  :-)

Speaking of cards that I have made... if you live in the Tulare/Visalia/Exeter/Hanford area of Cali, stop by the recently remodeled Goodies Cookies in Mary's Vineyard and browse my card rack.  I'm heading there today and I'll be adding 100 cards!!  Plus, don't leave the store without getting one of their delicious cookies.  My fave is the Snickerdoodle.  While you're there, tell Natalie and Sandy hi from me!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Addicts Holiday Mini Blog Hop!!

Hi Stampers!!!  Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Holiday Mini Blog Hop.  If you've been hopping with us, that means you just came from Rhonda's Stampin' Bunny blog where she treated you with lots of fabulous ideas using the Candy Wrapper die.  I just can't wait to get my hands on this one!  If you just joined the hop, that's okay.  Just keep hopping along and make your way around.  You won't want to miss a single blog, since they all have amazing ideas using the products from the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog that begins September 1st.  If you get lost, or miss a blog, just CLICK HERE and you can see a list of all the blogs in order.

I chose to feature the Pasiley Prints stamp set (#120817 $16.95).  What drew me to this set was the fact that you can use it for almost any holiday.  It's very versatile.  It has a Christmas tree, two hearts (big and small) , a leaf, and a pumpkin.  My first card uses the large paisley heart.

I used the Deck the Halls DSP, also available in the mini.  It's not for Christmas only ya know!!  I think it looks wonderful on this shabby valentine.  Other items I used from the mini catalog is the 1/2" seam binding.  It's nice and thin and very easy to tie.  I also used the Deck the Halls Big Desginer Buttons.  And they ain't kidding when they say BIG!  This is the smallest button in the pack.  This layout comes from the Mojo Monday sketch blog.  It is sketch #153.

Next up I used the leaf stamp.  It's perfect for any fall project.

This DSP is also from the Deck the Halls pack.  The colors I used are Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, (doesn't that sound yummy together!) and Wild Wasabi.  This color combo comes from the Color Lab challenge.  The monocromatic nuetrals also works for the challenge over at the Stampin' Royalty blog.  Plus, the sketch comes from the Pals Paper Arts challenge.  Wow!  Three challenge with one card, and they are all SU! blogs!  I haven't done that in awhile!

My final project would make a great addition to your Thanksgiving holiday table setting.  You could use these little treat holders as placecards.  Write everyone's name on them and set them on their plate.  A little chocolate is the perfect ending to any meal!

This treat holder was inspired by Kimberly Van Diepen.  It uses the Two Tags die.  I wanted to do a Christmas card using the Christmas tree stamp, but just ran out of time.  If only I didn't need to sleep.  Then I could get in more stamping!

Next up on the blog hop is the super talented and amazingly sweet Allison Ohran.  (I may be a little bias, since we are on the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge DT together!)  Allison will be featuring the Paisley Party wheel that coordinates with the Paisley Prints set that I just showed you.  Maybe she made something with the Christmas tree!

Thanks so much for hopping by!  Be sure to check out STAMPIN' ADDICTS.  It's my favorite online Stampin' Up! hangout.  They have an amazing gallery filled with all kinds of SU! goodness.  Plus the forums are full of lots of friendly, positive people who love Stampin' Up! as much as I do!

Have a fabulous weekend!
Happy Stamping!
