Stampin' Up! Bloomin' Love Be Mine

Hi Stamping Friends!!!

Today I have the fourth and final card from my Bloomin' Love Online Stamp Class. If you like what you see, you should join my February Online Stamp Class featuring the Starburst Sayings Bundle. Details on how to join will be at the bottom of this post.

As much as I LOVE how the Love Blossoms DSP, the Bloomin' Love stamp set and Bloomin' Heart Thinlits all coordinate together, I wanted to try and design a slightly more "manly" card. Plus, I can never let a Valentine's Day pass by without creating a card using my family's "signature colors".

My dad has been a truck driver for over 40 years. My two brothers have followed in his footsteps. Every truck they have ever driven has been painted with the exact same color scheme... Red and black.

So this card is dedicated to the three of them.

Stamps: Bloomin' Love
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Red Foil (from the Holiday Catalog)
Accessories: Bloomin' Heart Thinlits, Happy Heart EF, Large Numbers Framelits (banner), Black Satin Ribbon (retired)

Card kit includes:

1 - Basic Black card base
1 - Real Red card front
1 - Basic Black embossed card front
1 - Red Foil Bloomin' Heart cutout
1 - Real Red piece for stamping
1 - Basic Black satin ribbon
5 - Pearl jewels

Instructions:

Attach the Basic Black embossed card front onto the Real Red card front using Fast Fuse adhesive.
Attach the Real Red card front onto the Basic Black card base.
Attach the Red Foil Bloomin Heart to the Basic Black embossed card front using Dimensionals.
Add the Pearl jewels to the red foil heart.
Stamp the banner onto the Real Red piece.
Stamp the Be Mine sentiment onto the banner.
Cut out with scissors or use the banner Framelit from the Large Numbers Framelit set.
Attach the banner to the card front using Dimensionals.
Tie the black satin ribbon around the top of the card.

I wanted to create a card that would properly represent my family's "signature colors"... Simple, elegant, and classy with a touch of "manliness". I think I accomplished that. It's perfect to give to that special guy in your life. :)

Some of you have asked me if you should buy the Die Brush featured on page 19 of the Occasions Catalog. My answer is simple... YES!!!

It was so easy to remove all the teeny, tiny intricate pieces from all the Bloomin' Hearts I cut out for my card kits. It would have taken me For. Ev. Er. without it. The Die Brush is super simple to use. You just lay your cut out cardstock on the soft, spongy foam pad and gently roll the brush over the top. I say gently because with a die this delicate, you could accidentally tear your paper if you apply too much pressure. After rolling across a few times, the little pieces are loosened and easily fall out. Best 11 bucks I've spent in a long time!!

This may be the end of the Bloomin' Love Online Card Class, but it is just the beginning of my Starburst Sayings class!!!
