ColourQ Tuesday #43

Hi Stamping Friends!  Arielle has more fabulous colors for us to play with this week. I combined the ColourQ challenge with the sketch challenge over at the Sketch Saturday blog.  Here's what I came up with:

CHEEP TALK

The only Early Espresso I used was for the sentiment and the branch of the tree.  I'm so glad that SU! came out with In Color markers last year.  That means I can sell all my retired ink pads and just keep the markers.  So when Arielle throws out a retired color for a challenge, at least I have the marker to match!  The Taffeta ribbon is not really Peach Parfait.  It's actually Pumpkin Pie, but I think it matches the Peach Parfait perfectly!  The DSP is from the Island Oasis pack from the Summer Mini catalog.  Remember, the summer mini will only be around for one more month.  So if you haven't gotten everything you've wanted from it, you'd better order soon!

I hope you can play along with us at the ColourQ this week.  We would love to have you join us!  Be sure and check what the other Royal Court DT members have created.  You won't be dissapointed!

Cheep Talk Inspiration

Hi Stamping Friends!

I had a lot of fun making today's card.  I got to use lots of bright, cheerful colors and lots of happy DSP.  What's happy DSP?  Any patterned paper that makes you smile.  :)

CHEEP TALK

I used the inspiration challenge from the PALS PAPER ARTS blog.  This is challenge PPA41.  At first I was going to make a card using Real Red, So Saffron, and Baja Breeze.  Then I realized everyone was using those colors for the challenge, so I went with something totally different!  I used the fun bird plate as my inspiration.  It has lots of juicy colors to choose from.  The sketch comes from Karen Giron's blog, the sweetest thing.  This is Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 68.  Great sketch to use up scraps of DSP, and to add lots of color to your card.

The card base is Orchid Opulence.  The DSP is frm Pink Flamingo, Sweet Pea, and some really old stuff I am too lazy to look up the name to.  :)  The little birdie was stamped in Pacific Point with a Tempting Turquoise wing.  The branch is Green Galore.  The flowers are Yoyo yellow, and the sentiment is Tangerine Tango.  A nice mix of retiring and returning colors.  The ribbon is really old retired SU! stuff.  It's called Apple Green.  Speaking of retiring colors, if you want to stock up on them, you better place your order ASAP as supplies running low.  And once it's gone, it's gone!!

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow and see the awesome color combo Arielle picked for this week's ColourQ.  On Wednesday, I hope to have a cupcake challenge card and Thursday will be the second STAMPIN' CELEBRATION inspiration challenge.  Wow!  What a fun week of stamping goodness!

ColourQ #29

Hi Stamping Friends!

Arielle really decided to challenge me this week!  I think this challenge pic is so bright and cheerful, but when I got out these colors to play with... oh my!  I didn't quite know where to begin.  It didn't help that I don't even own a Bravo Burgandy stamp pad!  I've been a demo for four years and have never bought it.  That's how often I use that color... never!  I do have a Bravo Burgandy marker, so that's what I used.  So I guess what I'm saying is, I really struggled with these colors.  I guess that's why it's called a challenge!

Here's the card I ultimately sent to Arielle:

Can you see the Bravo Burgandy?  I didn't think so!  The sentiment is the only thing on this card that is BB.  This card uses the Cheep Talk stamp set.  This sketch comes from Amy Rysavy's blog: PRARIE, PAPER, & INK.

Of course I wanted to create a couple more samples for you.  Too bad I didn't remember to take pictures of them when the sun was still shining.  Bad cards + bad lighting = awful blog post.  I almost don't want to post these, but I guess everyone deserves a bad stamping day every now and then!

Here's my second card:

I love this layout!  The block panels are very fun.  This sketch comes from my favorite Stampin' Up! online community hangout, STAMPIN' ADDICTS.  They have different challenges everyday.  Come hang out with us!  This is Sketch Challenge 50.  I flipped it on it's side.  This card uses Upsy Daisy, Dot, Dot, Dot, and Oval All stamp sets.

And my third card:

This sketch comes from the SKETCH GIRL blog.  This is sketch #16.  Another fabulous sketch.  This card uses the Petal Pizzazz and Stem Sayings stamp set.  It also has more Flower Fusion Sizzlet flowers on it.  I just can't get enough of those cute blooms!

Be sure to check out the rest of the creations from the CoulourQ Royal Court.  You can click on the links to their blogs in my sidebar.  And be sure to play along with us at the COLOURQ this week.  You can't do any worse than I did!  :)

Grab Your Shades!

Hi Stamping Friends!

Better grab your shades beacuse it's going to get BRIGHT in here!  This cheerful color challenge comes from STACEY'S STAMPING STAGE.  I really wanted to use my Cheep Talk set, since I've had it for quite awhile and it has never seen ink, and I thought these fun colors would be perfect for it.

I also used the sketch challenge from the STAMPING 411 blog.  This is their Saturday Sketch Challenge #146. This is just a great classic sketch.  Perfect to use for workshops or stamp camps.

Here's my card:
Do you have your shades ready?

Pretty bright huh?!  I used Pixie Pink for the card base, layered with Whisper White.  On the WW I used the Daisy Dash Jumbo Wheel with Yo-Yo Yellow ink.  Then I embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. The Yo-Yo Yellow flower is made using the Floral Fusion Sizzlet die.  The Only Orange and Green Galore grosgrain has been retired for some time.  I figured the colors were retiring, I better use up that old ribbon!

Well I better get back to whatever it is I SHOULD be doing, instead of just doing what I WANT to be doing.  :)
