14 Days of Love Day 14!!!

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
I Corinthians 13:13
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love."

SWEET CAKE

Stamps: Sweet Cake
Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Wisteria Wonder, Sweet Shop DSP
Accessories: Labels Framelits, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Everday Enchantment Brad, Scallop Dots Ribbon, Dazzling Details, Vanilla Embossing Powder (mmmmmm... yummy!)

This card is so cute IRL (this pic is horrible!), and it smells delicious!!!! I love the Scented Vanilla Embossing Powder! I'm thinking I may need to get the Cherry EP as well, to go with my Button Buddies stamp set. I used lots of new toys on this card. LOVE the Labels Framelits!!! Can't wait to use the Edgelits Dies. This is also the first time I used my Sweet Cake stamp set. (A little tip... when using a new stamp set, lightly sand it with SU! sanding blocks before the first use. It will stamp better.) So yummy!!! I stamped it three times. Once in Wisteria Wonder, then in Calypso Coral, and last in Chocolate Chip. Then I cut out and layered all the pieces. The Dazzling Details added some fun sparkle.

I know I will be creating more of this card for birthdays. I may even have to make a few and bring them over to Goodies Cookies, since they sell cupcakes too (and cake pops and wedding cakes and all kinds of other sweet treats!).

Here's a "love" banner I created a few years ago, but thought it was perfect to re-share today:

I've been browsing the net trying to come up with some fabulous projects for my hostess club gals who are coming this Sunday. I'm having a hard time deciding what to do. I want to show them all my new stuff!! That may be a little overwhelming in one day. I need to remember to save something special for March too. :)

Hope you enjoyed the 14 days of LOVE! Maybe I'll have to do a little something for Spring. Hop into Spring? Hmmm...? It does give me some motivation to stamp, which is always a good thing!

Thanks for stopping by!

14 Days of Love Day 13

Hi Stamping Friends!

I don't have many current "Valentine" sets. I tend to buy sets that are more versatile and can be used for more than one holiday. So it has been a fun challenge to try and come up with 14 unique Valentine cards for the 14 Days of Love. I've had to look at all my stamps sets and see if they have any "love" in them. It's pretty exciting to discover a sentiment or image that works for a Valentine's Day card.

PRETTY POSTAGE

Stamps: Pretty Postage, Sweet Cake
Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Sweet Shop DSP
Accessories: Scallop Square Punch, Postage Punch, Modern Label Punch, Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Wisteria Ruffled Ribbon, Dimensionals

So bummed this pic didn't turn out better. This card is so much brighter and cuter IRL. I've had the Pretty Postage set for awhile, (always need to buy the set that has the matching punch... I LOVE matchy, matchy!) but haven't used it near enough. I was so happy to find the "24-7" stamp. It's perfect for Valentine's Day! This is such a classic sketch. I could use it over and over (and I do!). Still lovin' the Sweet Shop DSP. Did you buy yours yet? You need to!  It's only available for a limited time. Visit my website today and order some: KRYSTAL'S CARDS

I had a blast yesterday stamping with all the gals who came to my birthday class. I even thought to take a couple of pictures, which I will share with you next week. Lots of laughs and stamps and ink. Not sure when I'll be able to have another big class like that. Afterall, the swim season has begun!! I hope you'll stop by again tomorrow and see my final "love" card. It's super sweet!! ;)

14 Days of Love Day 12

Hi Stamping Friends!

I can't believe we are already on day 12 of the 14 Days of Love!! For some reason I was thinking Valentine's Day was on Wednesday, but it's on Tuesday! I think I may have made too many cards. Guess I just needed another reason to stamp.  :)

DELIGHTFUL DOZEN

Stamps: Delightful Dozen
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Sweet Shop Specialty DSP
Accessories: Pennant Punch, Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Adorning Accents EF, Basic Rhinestones, Baker's Twine

I saw a card similar to this on Stampin' Connection. I changed up the color and paper and made mine a Valentine instead of a birthday card, but yeah... I pretty much copied it. :) Are you tired of the Sweet Shop Specialty DSP yet? I hope not, cause I love it!! Delightful Dozen is a "newish" stamp set. It came out in the big catalog in July. I've had it for awhile, but this is the first time I've used it. It has fabulous sentiments for all the important occasions throughout the year.

Today I'll be stampin' the afternoon away at my Birthday Extravaganza card class. So excited to have a class again. It's been forever!!

Make sure you check out my Facebook page: Krystal's Cards - Stampin' Up. If you "like" my page during the month of February, you will be entered to win a FREE stamp set. And FREE is always good!! I update my Facebook page with "additions", like links to Stampin' Up! videos and tutorials and things. It's also where I post reminders and photos and updates and links to my blog.  :) So if you would like to follow my blog via Facebook, than go "like" me!

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday...

14 Days of Love Day 11

Hi Stamping Friends!

Yay for the weekend!! Can't wait for my birthday stamp class on Sunday. I've got 13 stampers coming. So excited! I'm still having fun playing with all my new Stampin' Up! goodies. This next card does not use a new stamp set, but it does use a new accessory! However, it does use one of my favorite "boy" stamp sets.

EXTREME ELEMENTS

Stamps: Extreme Elements, Grunge Rock, (You Rock sentiment is retired)
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Grey, Newsprint DSP
Accessories: Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Heart Punch, Linen Thread, Glitter Brad, Black Brad

Saw a few cards on Stampin' Connection that used the Extreme Elements set for a Valentine, so I thought I would try it. "Boy" cards are always tough, but I think this one works. That splash of blue is Island Indigo. My color palette was inspired by the Twitterpated DSP that is available in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Make sure you check out Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration promotion on my website: KRYSTAL'S CARDS. Now is an awesome time to host a workshop or become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!

Psalm 6 and 14 Days of Love Day 10

Hi Stamping Friends!
"I am sick at heart.
Return, O LORD, and rescue me.
How long, O LORD, until you restore me?
Save me because of your unfailing love."
Psalm 6:3-4 NLT

WORD PLAY

Stamps: Word Play, En Francais BG
Paper: Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, Pale Plum, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Paper Doily Sizzlit, Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Bird Punch, Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon, Circle Punches, Basic Pearls

The theme for Psalm 6 is: Deliverance in trouble. God is able to rescue us.

This is the Word Study that Wendy Pope emailed us this week:

Word Study

Psalm 6:4
Turn, O LORD, and deliver me;  save me because of your unfailing love.

Turn is the Hebrew word shub (shoob), defined as turn back.  Sin driving a wedge between us and God.  The longer we wait to repent the wider the wedge becomes.  God will never leave or forsake us however during the time between sin and confession we often feel as if God has turned away from us.
David is experiencing this sense of separation.   David asks God to turn back to him.  He longs to feel the closeness he once knew.
I heard this saying years ago, “When you feel far from God ask yourself, ‘who moved?’”  This is a question I will ask myself today.

That last question really caught my attention... "who moved?" When we feel apart from God, it's not because of something that He has done, it's because of something that we have done. And until we confess our wrongdoings, we will continue to feel separated from Him. God does not move away from us. We move away from God.

Here is what Matthew Henry says regarding these verses:
IV. The pleas with which he enforces his petitions, not to move God (he knows our cause and the true merits of it better than we can state them), but to move himself. 1. He pleads God's mercy; and thence we take some of our best encouragements in prayer: Save me, for thy mercies' sake.

I chose the sentiment "You're in my thoughts, you're in my heart" from Word Play because it made me think of how God must feel when we stray from Him. He continues to love us in the midst of our sin. We are still "in His heart". He's waiting for the day when we will confess our sins and turn back to Him. God will never leave us. I love the truth in Romans 8:37-39:

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Wendy wonderfully summarizes this Psalm in a few short sentences:

  • Ask for mercy (1-2)
  • Let God see our sorry (2-3, 6-8)
  • Be confident that God hears our prayer. (8b-9)
This lack of confidence keeps us bound to our sin.  The sin God forgives.

I've been so blessed by studying the Psalms. Each week I have discovered another amazing piece of Truth from God's Word. I pray you to will be blessed too.

And now for Day 10 of the 14 days of LOVE!!

TEENY TINY WISHES

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Sweet Shop DSP
Accessories: Small Heart Punch, Tulip Frame EF, Pool Party Seam Binding, Basic Rhinestone, Baker's Twine, Dimensionals

I saw this design on Stampin' Connection and just knew I needed to CASE it! I changed up the colors and added some ribbon (new Pool Poarty Seam Binding found in the Occasions Mini Catalog!). A nice, simple Valentine. I'm still lovin' the Sweet Shop Specialty Designer Series Paper. In fact, I need to order some more Pool Party card stock I've been using so much of it!

I hope you've been blessed and inspired today!

14 Days of Love Day 9

Hi Stamping Friends!

Woo! Hoo! I finally have a "new-ish" stamp set to show you! Well, it's new for me. It's been in the catalog since July, but I just got it in my hot, little hands on Monday.

Up, Up, & Away

Stamps: Up, Up, & Away
Paper: Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz Patterns DSP, Playground DSP (retired)
Accessories: Cupcake Punch (clouds), Snowburst EF, Heart to Heart Punch, Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon, Dimensionals

Isn't it fun?! I've been wanting this set forever. Not sure why, as I've never been in a hot air balloon before. This card is waaaaay different from my typical style, but I really like it! And it's also not your typical Valentine either, but it totally works. The hot air balloons are cut out by hand and so are the green "hills". I think SU! needs a "hot air balloon" punch. You could also use it for party balloons!

I can't wait for my birthday card class on Sunday! I have all the cards designed and cut. Now all I need to do is put them into individual kits. It feels good to be ahead of the game for once!

Tomorrow I will be back with the 10th Day of Love and also For Real Friday. I've been studying Psalm 6 this week. It's been kind of tough to figure out a card to go with it. But I've been working on something, so we will see out it turns out.

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!

14 Days of Love Day 8

Hi Stamping Friends!

After getting all my new Stampin' Up! goodies on Monday, all I want to do is stamp, Stamp, STAMP!!! But I do have children that need to be schooled, a husband who needs to be listened to, clothes that need to be washed, mouths that need to be fed, and blog posts that need to be written. If I didn't have those things to distract me, I would just stay in my pjs all day and stamp my little heart out!

SWEETHEART

Stamps:  Sweetheart, Tiny Tags
Paper:  Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Whisper White, Sweet Shop Specialty Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Adorning Accents Embossing Folder, Jewelry Tag punch, Heart Punch, Old Olive Striped Grosgrain, Vintage Trinkets, Baker's Twine

The Sweetheart stamp set is not new. It's been around for a couple of years. But I saw this darling layout by the amazingly talented Erica Cerwin and just had to CASE it!! Something that is new on this card is that incredibly delicious Sweet Shop Specialty Designer Series Paper!! I'm so glad my Stampin' Addict peep, Yapha Mason, recommend I buy it. I LOVE it!! Not only are the colors to die for cute, but two of the patterns of paper are embossed! Oh my it is just yummy!! It's available in the Occasions Mini Catalog on page 33. I think it's kind of fun to use "non-traditional" colors for holidays. Who says Christmas needs to be red and green or Valentine's Day needs to be red and pink?! Jump outside the box people!!  :)

I've been busily working on more Valentine stampin' "love". Can you believe Valentine's Day is only a week away?! Seems like I just took down the Christmas decorations! I have a few more ideas I'm working on. Course that gives me a reason to play with all my new stuff!

I've also been busily creating card samples and kits for my upcoming birthday card class this Sunday. I have two cards created and prepped and the third card just needs to be adhered and then cut and prepped. Then I still need to design two more cards and cut and prep them. I have 12 ladies coming. I'm so excited! I haven't had a card class in about a year. I used to have classes once a month, with up to 20 people stamping. Craziness! That was when my kids were younger and not involved in anything and my hubby was not a youth pastor involved in everything! I couldn't imagine doing it every month right now. Some day when my life slows down, my stamping will speed up. Until then, I'll just keep plugging along.

Tomorrow I have a card using a new stamp set. Well it's not "technically" new since it's been in the catalog since last July, but it is new to me! It's one I've been wanting since the catalog came out and I finally bought. Yay for me!!  :)

14 Days of Love Day 7

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Today I have some Valentine love that is an oldie but a goodie...

CHOO CHOO

Stamps:  Choo Choo (retired), Got Treats (sentiment)
Paper:  Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Whisper White, various DSP (some retired)
Accessories:  Heart to Heart Punch, Owl Punch (extra small heart), Button (retired), Stitched Grograin (retired)

This is another card I made for Goodies Cookies. I saw a Valentine train on Stampin' Connection (an online community for Stampin' Up! demonstrators) and thought it was super cute. During my stamp marathon in January, I came up with this card. It was fun using this stamp set in a different way. I was so excited when the "Got Love?" sentiment fit perfectly on the train car!!

Sorry about all the retired product I'm showing here. When I stamp cards to sell, I try to get rid of some of my "stash". But that's about to change, 'cause look what was delivered to my house yesterday...

Woo! Hoo!!!! Can you believe it?! I haven't placed a Stampin' Up! order since September. I've been waiting for Sale-A-Bration to get lots of extra freebies!!! I know there are four boxes stacked there. But in reality, the two bottom boxes have my order in them. Those top two boxes only had one item in each box. The second box has a pretty bulky item in it, that would not have fit in the bottom boxes. So I can understand why it was shipped separately. But that top smallest box had just one flat, little tote bag in it. I'm sure they could have squeezed in it somewhere!! They must have got the order all pack and ready to ship and then realized they left something out. Otherwise it just make no sense!!

Here is all the stuff that was in those four boxes...

Yesterday was like Christmas, my birthday, and Valentine's Day all rolled into one! That's how much fun I had unpacking those boxes and putting away all my toys. I must have had a silly grin on my face for a couple of hours.  :)

I got tons of FREE Sale-A-Bration goodies and some new stuff from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Plus some stamp sets from the main catalog that I've been wanting for a long time. You can also see that I bought lots of "essentials"... SNAIL refills, re-inkers, Dimesnsionals, Glue Dots, card stock, envelopes, order forms. These things are not as fun to get as new stamp sets, but I'm hoping they will last me for quite a while.

I'm not sure what I'm most excited about getting, but I know I've used my Simply Scored only once and it is AMAZING!!! I've had a Scor-Pal for about five years. The Simply Scored out performs the SP a hundred to one. It's also sturdier and I love the markers to keep track of which line you want to score on. Awesome product!

Of course I couldn't go to bed without making a card, so tomorrow I will have some Valentine love with almost all new goodies on it. And I can't wait to prep for my birthday card class and use all my new stuff!!

You can have this much fun too if you order during the month of February. Not only will Stampin' Up! give you some FREE stampin' goodness for placing a $50 order, but you could also win FREE stamps sets from me during my FEBRUARY PRIZE SPECTACULAR. For more info, visit this post HERE.

14 Days of Love Day 6

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Are you ready for more stampin' love?! Today's project was created for my monthly hostess club.

YOU ARE LOVED

Stamps:  You Are Loved (retired)
Paper:  Real Red, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White, Red Glimmer
Accessories:  Petal Cone die, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Scallop Circle Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Lace Ribbon Border punch, Boho Blossom Punch, Organdy Ribbon, Glimmer Brad

I wanted to do a little something special with my stamping club gals, so I came up with this cute heart pouch (not my own design, just copied from others) made with the Petal Cone die. Funny thing is, I ended up having to make all six of them because I had to cancel our club meeting!!  :)  This cold and flu season is getting ridiculous! I hand cut the heart and then I punch 3 or 4 scallop circles and layered them under the heart to give the heart a scallop edge. You kind of have to play around and cut the circles. They don't fit under there perfectly. The "Sweet Friend" banner covers up all the "mistakes" quite nicely. In order to emboss the Petal Cone "heart", you have to put it through the Big Shot twice. It's too big to fit into the embossing folder. That little "boo-boo" gets covered up by the You Are Loved heart. Remember, in stamping there are no mistakes, just reasons to get creative!

I'm looking forward to stamping with my club gals again on the 19th of this month. And it should be lots of fun, because I am expecting a HUGE Stampin' Up! order today, so I will have lots of new products to play with.  I can't wait!!!
