Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #10

Hi Stampers!  I'm so glad you stopped by today!  We have a fabulous new challenge over at the Stampin' Celebration blog.  We are celebrating weddings with these gorgeous, modern wedding photos.  The black and yellow make such a bold color combo.

I love creating wedding ensembles for brides. I usually do one wedding per year and that can include anything from invitations to favors, and programs, and menus, and table numbers... everything!  It's a ton of fun and also stresses me out majorly!  The worst part for me is the printing.  I do all of it o my PC at home.  And I hate when things print crooked or if the ink bleeds.  Drives me crazy!  But I still say yes when someone asks, because I just love the outcome.

This challenge came at just the perfect time.  I just met with a bride last week and we discussed what she wanted on her invites.  Black and yellow are not the colors of her wedding, but this is the style of invite we talked about.

Sorry for the super cruddy pic, but I just didn't have time to take a better one.  This invite is 5x7 and is wrapped with a band that slides off to open the card.

This is the inside of the invite.  It has a pocket on the left panel that holds the postcard style RSVP card and an Accommodations/Directions card.  You can see the wrap band on the bottom left.  the colors of this invite are Basic Black, Whisper White, and So Saffron.  The card is made with a 12x12 sheet of cardstock that is folded and scored.  The stamp image comes from the Friends 24/7 set.  That set is worth this one image alone.  It's one of my faves!

I hope you can join us at the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge.  Remember to celebrate all of life's moments!!

One ColourQ

Hi Stamping Friends!

It's Tuesday!  Must be time for another COLOURQ color challenge!  Can you believe that I only have one card for you today?!  I know!  Shame on me.  It's not that I didn't have fun playing with these colors, I really did.  And it has nothing to do with the fact that I don't own the Bravo Burgandy OR the Sage Shadow ink pads.  It's just that I had such a crazy, busy weekend.  If you have kids that are involved in "stuff", you know what I mean!  I didn't have time to stamp any extra cards for this week's challenge.  So I hope one is enough!

Here's my card:

I thought the colors had a fun, vintage look to them.  One of my favorite vintage style stamp sets is Friends 24-7.  I use this set all the time!  The card base is Always Artichoke (so glad this color is staying!).  The panels are Bravo Burgandy stamped with the damask stamp from Friends 24-7, using Versamark.  Then a Very Vanilla panel that is embossed with the Damask Texturz Plate.  Then a Cameo Coral panel (so sad to see this color go!) that is stamped with the En Francais BG stamp in Always Artichoke.  The bird is stamped in Cameo Coral and the Little Leaves are punched out of Sage Shadow.  The taffeta ribbon is tied with a Chocolate Chip Button Latte.  Doesn't it look just like Bravo Burgandy when you set it by that color?!  This layout comes from the weekly sketch challenge at my favorite online SU! community, STAMPIN' ADDICTS.

I hope you have a chance to play along with us at the COLOURQ this week.  You only have to make ONE card!  Be sure to stop by the other members of the cQc Royal Court and see what stampin' goodnes they have come up with.  You can click on the links on my sidebar.

Be sure to stop by on Thursday when I reveal the Design Team members of my new inspiration challenge blog: STAMPIN' CELEBRATION.  Candance Lawlor and I have teamed up to start another (YES... ANOTHER!) challenge blog.  Then check back on Thursday, May 6th when we will post our first ever Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge!

And then be sure to come back on Friday, when I will be participating in the STAMPIN' ADDICTS Summer Mini Blog Hop.  You'll get to see lots of great projects using the stamp sets from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog.  You won't want to miss it!

Kewl Goes Vintage

Hi Stamping Friends!

Well I have another vintage card for you.  Today's card combines two challenges.  The color challenge comes from the KEWL COLOR challenge blog.  The colors to use are Kraft, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Bordering Blue, and Bashful Blue.  The sketch comes form the MOJO MONDAY challenge blog.

Here's my card:

I think I might finally be getting the hang of this Vintage thing!  This sketch has a lot going on, so I kept my main image pretty simple.  The bird and the damask image come from the Friends 24-7 set.  I was so happy to hear that Soft Suede will be returning to the next big SU! catalog as a "core" color.  It is the best color brown for distressing stuff.  The card base is Soft Suede layered with Kraft that was stamped with the Bella Toile Bg stamp.  The DSP comes from the Bella Bleu pack.  I've had it forever and this is the first time I've ever used it!  I just had to add a Very Vanilla satin ribbon to the top.  It looked so lonely without it!  If you are looking for some inspiration, try partcipating in a couple of blog challenges.  They are a ton of fun and really bring you out of your box!

Finally Vintage!

Hi Stamping Friends!

Well I finally made a vintage style card that I absolutely adore!  I don't know why it's so hard for me to do this style of a paper crafting.  I love the vintage, shabby chic look, but I just can't seem to get it to work for me.  Until today!

I made this card for the Curtain Call color challenge over at Stacey's Stamping Stage.  And I also used the sketch from the 2 Sketches 4 You.  This is Kazan's sketch 49.

This card was so fun to make!  The card base is Kraft.  I stamped the damask image from the Friends 24-7 set with White Craft ink.  I did use my SAMJ to get the placement right.  The sentiment comes from the Wellness Wishes set.  For the butterflies, I first stamped the Kraft cardstock with the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp from the Occasions Mini catalog using Versamark ink.  I love the added depth it gives the butterfly.  The pearls and hat pin are from the Pretties Kit.  I did sponge the edges of everything with a little bit of Soft Suede.

Friend Pack Card #5

Hi Stamping Friends!

Happy Friday!
Today's card is the last card from my Friends Pack.  I made extra of all five of these cards, so I will have some on hand for myself.  What's great about a "friend" card is you can use it for any occasion!

This card has a total vintage feel to it.  I don't do vintage very well, so I was quite pleased with myself how this turned out. Shelli Gardner, the cofounder and CEO of Stampin' Up! has a beautiful vintage style.  I'm always envious of people that can pull it off so effortlessly!

The card base is Whisper White layered with Kraft that has been embossed with the Damask Texturz plate.  The images are from the Friends 24-7 set and the sentiment is from the True Friend set.  The Pink Pirouette (retired) tag is cut using the Lots of Labels embosslit.  And the flowers are cut using the Birds and Blooms embosslit.  All the edges have been sponged with Soft Suede.

Can you tell that I LOVE my Big Shot?!  There's hardly a card that I make that doesn't require the Big shot for at least one element.  It has been the best craft investment I've ever made!!!  My Cricut is sitting at my cousins house right now, because she needed it for her bulletins boards.  Otherwise that thing hasn't seen the light of day since I got my Big Shot!  If you don't have a Big Shot, now is the best time to order one. You'll receive lots of free stamp sets through our Sale-A-Bration promotion going on now through March 31st.  Don't wait!  Order yours today!
