Stampin' Up! Wondrous Wreath Blessings

Hey Stamping Friends!!!

Today I have the fourth and final card that combines the Wondrous Wreath stamp set that is featured on page 72 of the regular "Share the Fun" catalog and the Hostess stamp set Six Sayings that is on page 51 of the "Handmade for the Holidays" mini holiday catalog.

Stamps: Wondrous Wreath, Six Sayings, Hardwood BG, Kinda Eclectic (the sunburst behind the cross)
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Wisteria Wonder, Soft Suede
Paper: Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Retired Wasabi DSP
Accessories: Wonderful Wreath Framelits, Banner Triple Punch, Pearl Jewels

Isn't it cool how you can take two "Christmas" stamps and make an Easter card?! The "Blessings" sentiment actually comes from a bigger stamp that says, "Happy Holidays and may Blessings fall like snowflakes". I stamped the entire sentiment in Wisteria Wonder and then cut out just the "Blessings".

To create the cross I stamped the Hardwood BG stamp onto Soft Suede cardstock using Soft suede ink. Then I cut out two pieces of the wood. I distressed the edges and then sponged it all to give it an older look.

I love how this card eventually turned out, but there are still things about it that bug me. Like the cross. At first I had the crossbar in the front. That didn't look right so I pulled the whole thing apart and put it in the back. Now I think I should have left it. And I cut the end tags on the sentiment way to close to the letters. That S has no breathing room!! And I wanted the "sunburst" to show up a little more. I should have stamped it lower like the sun was rising behind the hills. Then it would have had a bigger impact.

Overall it was a very fun card to make. Do you ever get finished with a card and look at it with a too critical eye? I know whomever I send this card too will not notice any of the things I just mentioned. That's what keeps stamping fun for me. There is no such thing as a perfect card. They are all wonderful little masterpieces. All with there own little unique quirks. Just like me. :)

This was such a fun challenge to pair these two stamp sets together. I challenge you to do the same. Look at your stamp stash. Pick two sets (it helps if one of them is a sentiment set). And come up with a few unique cards using both sets together.

If you need a little help jump starting your creativity, you should join one of my online classes!!

Stampin' Up! Wondrous Wreath Merry Christmas

Hi Stamping Friends!!

Today is the second card in a series I am doing showcasing the Wondrous Wreath stamp set paired with the Hostess stamp set, Six Sayings. I'm really excited about how they are all turning out!! I love challenging myself with my stamps. I'm hoping I can make this a regular thing here at the blog. That way you can get more ideas on how to use your fabulous Stampin' Up! stamp sets and I can have more reasons to play up in my stamp loft. :)

Stamps: Wondrous Wreath, Six Saying
Ink: Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand for distressing
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Gold Glimmer
Accessories: Wonderful Wreath Framelits, Banner Triple Punch, Antique Brads

I've seen lots of "door" cards on the interwebs and decided I needed to try one. The hardest part was figuring out where to put the door knob! I think it's a little too low. Oh well! Live and learn!!

I got a new battery for my camera and still nothing. So I'm guessing it's not the battery, it's the camera. Which is a total bummer because who wants to spend money on a new camera when you could better buy more stamps?!

I took this pic with my phone. It didn't turn out half bad, but I like the pics I take with my camera better. I guess you will all just have to deal with ugly pics here at the blog for a while until I get this figured out.

A little stamping tip...
When you are stamping multiple images that will be cut out with Framelits, be sure to leave enough room between each image so you can cut them out out one time.

You're welcome. ;)

Stampin' Up! Wondrous Wreath Thankful

Hi Stamping Friends!!

I've been having so much fun doing seasonal "sets" with stamp sets, that I thought it would be fun to combine the Wondrous Wreath stamp set with the Hostess set Six Sayings to see if I could come up with four unique cards using only two stamp sets.

Here is my first card:

Stamps: Wondrous Wreath, Six Sayings, Hardwood, Gorgeous Grunge (texture on pumpkin)
Ink: Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede
Paper: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Corrugated Paper
Accessories: Wonderful Wreath Framelits, Banner Punch, Circle Punch, Linen Thread

This card was inspired by the challenge over at the TGIF challenge blog TGIFC27. This was a remix challenge where you had to choose two of the previous challenges and combine them into one card. Here are the two challenges I chose:

The top challenge piece inspired my color scheme and also the circular, natural feel of the wreath. The bottom challenge inspired me to make a "thankful" card.

I just started to play along in challenges again and it's been fun!! It's great when you can find a challenge blog as talented as the TGIF blog. Those stampers blow me away every time!!

Stampin' Up! Wondrous Wreath Reject

Hi Stampin' Friends!!

I've been busy designing Christmas cards for my upcoming Tulare County class and thought I wanted to use the Wondrous Wreath stamp set for a class project. I proceeded to start stamping and realized this stamp set would probably not be a good idea to use at this particular class. But I went ahead and finished the card anyway. So the card itself is NOT a reject, just using this stamp set for this class is. :)

Stamps: Wondrous Wreath

Accessories: Wonderful Wreath Framelits, Striped Ribbon
