Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #13

Hi Stamping Friends!  It's Thrusday and that means it's time for another Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge!!  This week we are celebrating an endless summer with this fun surf/pool theme.  Since my hubby is and old surfer at heart (we grew up in SoCal where he surfed every beach he could!) I love this week's theme.  We hope you can play along with us!!

EXTREME SURFBOARD

I love the bright "boy" colors in the photos.  I used Pacific Point (great replacement for Brilliant Blue!), Daffodil Delight (another great change from Yoyo Yellow!), and Pumpkin Pie.  AS you can tell, I'm really lovin' the Color Renovation that SU! did this year.  And they announced that they would be changing the colors around every 5 years or so.  I think that's a smart move on their part.  You have to keep up with the trends!!

I used a sketch from the 2 Sketches 4 You blog.  I'm trying to get a little more creative in my embellishments.  I still haven't got back into my stamping groove yet.  I'm hoping it comes back soon!
Be sure to stop back by tomorrow.  I'm going to be in a Stampin' Addicts blog hop and they are always the best!!  So many talented ladies over there.

Thanks for stopping by!

Extreme ColourQ

Hi Stamping Friends!

Well it's Tuesday!  Time for another color challenge over at the COLOURQ blog.  This week Arielle has picked some awesome boy colors to play with.  And when I think of boy stamp sets, I always pull our my Extreme Elements set.

Here's the card I sent to Arielle to post on the ColourQ blog:

It's all boy!  I love to do grungy boy cards.  You would think I would be great at vintage cards too, which are kind of like grungy girl cards, but I really struggle with vintage.  I think I try too hard.  With a boy card, you just can't mess up!  The stamp sets I used are Extreme Elements, Extreme Skateboard, and All Holidays for the sentiment.

The sketch comes from the UNSCRIPTED SKETCHES blog:
This week they are celebrating their one year blogiversary with a Treasure Hunt.  Go check it our and you could win a prize!

This is the second card I made:

This sketch comes from the TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS blog:
Who knew a guy card could have so many circles on it and still look cool?  The surfer image is called Extreme Surfboard and the sentiment comes from A Little Birthday Cheer.  The Rope Twine is only available on the Clearance Rack online.  Your demo cannot order it for you.

And finally my last card:

This card uses the sketch from Amy Rysavy's blog, PRARIE, PAPER, & INK

The stamp sets I used were Extreme Elements, Extreme Dirt Bike, and the sentiment comes from Just Jawing.

I hope you have a chance to play along with the COLOURQ color challenge this week!

A New Challenge Find!

Hi Stamping Friends!

Well I'm so excited, because I found a new challenge blog!  And heaven knows I need more challenges to partcipate in!  :)  It's a Dutch blog called Cards & Things.  Doesn't their blog header look a little familiar?  This week they offered a sketch challenge:

It's a very masculine (to me!) sketch with no scallops, flowers, or frills.  This reminded me of the Color Throwdown Challenge CTD64 which is also perfect for a guy.

So this is the manly (is that even a word?) card I came up with:

This would be a great card for a teenage guy, or an old surfer like my hubby!  Guy cards are always a little difficult.  You can give any woman a card with a flower on it, but you can't give just any man a card with a surfer on it.  KWIM?  My brothers, for instance would rather have a card with an old car or shiny truck on it.  But I haven't come across any stamps that have cool looking Peterbilts on them!
The Extreme Surfer is stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The DSP is retired Parisian Breeze Specialty Paper.  I miss this paper!  The card base is Basic Black, with a layer of Sahara Sand.  The Twill Tape adds some texture, as does the black button which is also retired.  I roughed up the edges of the Baha Breeze circle with my Distressing Tool and then sponged the edges with ink.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Pretty simple!  And manly!

Tween Birthday Boy and a Final Jingle!

Hi Stamping Friends!

Just thought I'd share the Tween Birthday Boy card pack I will be selling for my mission fundraiser.

I used Kraft cardstock for the bases and Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Baja Breeze, and Very Vanilla for various elements.  The DSP is called Urban Oasis.  Bummer is it's retired!

And for the grand finale... the last Christmas Jingle card.  This is number 20 out of 20.  Remember, tomorrow is the last day to take advantage of the Early Bird special of $40.  After tomorrow, the price is $45 and includes all supplies to make 20 cards, plus envelopes, a glue stick, and a pack of Dimensionals.  What a bargain!

The cute ornament is made using the Delightful Decorations stamp set that is featured in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  It's punched out using the new Ornament Punch, also in the mini.
If you can't make it to stamp all 20 cards with me, I can make you a kit and send it to you.
