Triple Threat Challenge! Replay!

Hi Stamping Friends!
I can't believe it's Saturday already! I always tell myself that I'm going to blog more, but I never seem to get around to it as much as I would like. I think I'm going to try and save posts on the weekends and publish them throughout the week. Maybe I'll be more consistent that way.

Today's card is a combination of three challenges:
The first is Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration KWCI48

Next up is Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge WSC75 hosted by the very talented Mary Jo Albright

And finally, a challenge from a Stampin' Up! only Yahoo Group that I just joined called the Late Night Stampers LNS13. Challenge #13 was to use a bird on your card. I chose to use the owl from the new Occasions Mini set called Forest Friends. Here's my card:
I think it turned out pretty cute! The DSP is Parisian Breeze Specialty and the ribbon is from the Ribbon Originals called Pig Tails. The sentiment is from Sock Monkey. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'm off to make some rainbow Peeps.
Happy Stamping!

Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration 41

I love playing in Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge KWCI41. By day, Kristina is a graphic artist for Stampin' Up!. Once in awhile she has some blog posts about "work". It's so cool to get an inside look of working in the SU! corporate offices. I also love her sense of design. Very clean and fresh. Here's the color inspiration piece Kristina gave us:

These are great colors for my family. As long as my dad has been a truck driver (which has practically been my whole life!) his truck, his brothers trucks and now my brothers trucks have always been "red, black & silver". So we consider this color combo our "company colors"! Here's the card I made for this challenge:

I made this final (hopefully!) valentine for my 3 yo DS to give to his cousins. The card is SU! only. I used the new Texturz Plates to emboss the black panel. I really like the large polka dots! The hearts are from the Love You Much stamp set, stamped with black ink and punch out with the coordinating punch. The sentiment is from A Happy Heart and punched out with the Word Window punch. I embellished with a couple of silver brads, Gray taffetta ribbon and black gingham ribbon. Super cute and easy!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration 39

Isn't this a fun picture! I love the three bubblegum machines in a row like that. When I first saw Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge KWCI39 for this week I instantly thought the colors looked very Mary Engelbright-like. I thought I wanted to do something with cherries. While I did use a fruit stamp, I changed from cherries to strawberries. I also used a sketch challenge from Stephanie Hargis TECC52SH. Talyored Expressions is celebrating a year of Cupcake Challenges. She has 9 sketch challenges and you have the opportunity to win with every card you make. Very fun! I don't know if I'll get all nine done, but I've already finished two, so expect to see more posts from me this weekend! Here's my card:

CARDSTOCK: Basic Black, So Saffron, Green Galore, Whisper White, Real Red DSP
STAMPS: Tart and Tangy (the sentiment is a rub-on)
ACCESSORIES: SU! Apple Green Grosgrain (retired) Black Grosgrain unknown, Cuttlebug Dots
I used some Crystal Effects on my strawberry, which made it nice and shiny, but it sort of muddied it too. You can't quite see the "seeds" as well. I also poked holes in the Scallop Circle, but it doesn't show up in the photo at all. Sorry!
Thanks for stopping by!

A Double Challenge!

Today's card is for two challenges that I enjoy participating in. One is Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration and the other is the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

The colors are Ruby Red, Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White. I love these colors together! Very girly. And this was a fabulous sketch to create with. I wanted to use my new Petal Pizzazz set that will be in the SU! Spring/Summer catalog next week! Here's my card:
I tried to use some natural light, but it was coming more as a spotlight than a nice flood of light. Doesn't look real pretty. Looks much better IRL! Of course there are lots of textures on this card: Cuttlebug Polka Dot Embossing Folder, SU! Felt Flowers, SU! Brads and Flower Brad. Next week I won't have to use any more "contraband" Cuttlebug stuff because Stampin' Up! is coming out with Texture Plates!! I'm so excited! I can't wait to place my first order!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!

Color Inspiration 37

Today's card is for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge on her blog. Aren't these great colors! So fresh. Reminds me of spring. Of course they contain two of my fave colors, green and brown, so maybe that's why I love it so much! I really love all the cards I've seen at Splitcoast with the buttons on the tree. I know I'm behind the curve ball on this one, but I'm always a little late with the trends. Hey! At least I used all current Stampin' Up! supplies! So here's my card:

Isn't it cute?! I know the buttons are considered Kiwi Kiss, but they look pretty darn close to Old Olive to me. I used a clear button over the sentiment (from Wow Flowers) to continue the button theme and it helps to highlight it. I didn't want the holes in the button to show, so I covered it with a little flower punch. I really love this Season of Friendship stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. Word from Leadership is that it is NOT in the new Spring/ Summer catty. So if you want this set, you better hurry and buy it before Jan. 19th. I think this is my favorite set out of the Holiday Mini.

I totally forgot my friends birthday (it was on New Year's Eve!) so I think I'll be mailing this to her. I hope she doesn't read this!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Stamping!

Color Inspiration 36

Well I've had so much fun stamping today, that I thought I'd share one more card. This is for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge KWCI36. Here's the inspiration piece:

I love these colors together and they are just what I needed to get inspired for my "Love You Much" card class on Jan. 13th. Here's the card I made, using A Happy Heart from the Holiday Mini Catalog and the brand new Love You Much set that will be in the new Spring Catalog coming Jan. 19th:

Happy Stamping in the New Year!

Color Inspiration 25

My card for today is for the Color Inspiration Challenge on Kristina Werner's blog. What a fun color combo. I just loved the picture from Ikea. That little frog is adorable sitting on top of the pile of quilts. I know we are supposed to be inspired by the colors, but I couldn't help but be inspired by the whole photograph. So here's the card I came up with:

I used some old scraps of DSP to recreate the look of a stack of quilts. I don't have any frog stamps, so I used another stamp that would make a cute stuffed animal, the zebra from Zoofari. I tried to dye my Vanilla button with Ruby Red ink, but it didn't turn out as dark as I wanted. I probably should have let it dry a little longer before wiping it off.

Anyhoo! Fun color challenge. I hope I have time to stamp this weekend. I have a few invitation orders I need to work on, and I really should get ready for my class on Tuesday night. Problem is, my supplies for my class won't be here until Monday night! Yikes!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great weekend!

Color Inspiration #24

I love partcipating in Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration challenge found on her blog. She always finds the most beautiful and inspiring advertisement photos. This one is no different. Even though it's 90 degrees around here, these gorgeous colors remind me of a crisp, fall day. So I went with the obvious (more like boring!) and chose a pumpkin for the focal point of my card. I loved the damask pattern on the plate and it reminded me of the SU! Baroque background stamp. So I stamped my Kiwi Kiss panel with that. I love the curves of the SU! Top Note die, so incorporated that as well. The only fall, Thanksgiving style set I own is Autumn Harvest, so I had no other choice, but to use that. I tried to keep my design simple, in the style of Kristina W. The pumpkin image is raised with SU! Dimensionals. I wished I had placed the Chocolate Chip Stitched ribbon a little lower, but it's all stuck tight and I'm NOT taking it apart!

I'm new at this blogging thing, so please be patient with me as I try to figure it all out. My pics and words are not where I want them, but they will have to be good enough for now.
Thanks for stopping by!
God Bless!
