Diva Coffee Break Challenge 120

I wanted to partcipate in the Diva Coffee Break Design challenge DCBD120, because I love Stampin' Up! only challenges. I also love that it's CURRENT SU! stuff. Great way to get ideas for upcoming classes.

I also wanted to play in the Featured Stamper challenge FS112 over at SCS, because I love to be inspired by other talented stampers.

But I'm afraid I may have "cheated" on both challenges. The Featured Stampers challenge is where you are supposed to CASE another stamper. You need to change at least 2 things on your card, so it is not an exact duplicate. But this time, I changed pretty much everything, but the layout. So I'm not even sure it is considered a CASE. You can see JustPaintingAround's original card here.

For the Diva color challenge, we were supposed to use these colors:

Problem is, I added black to my card. I don't know if that is allowed or not. So all in all, I tried to do two challenges but ended up doing none! :) At least I was inspired by two challenges. If it were not for that, I would never had a chance to make this card:

Isn't it cute?! I couldn't wait for Friday to come, because I knew my little Choo Choo set was going to be in the box. I don't know if I'm going to sell a ton of this set, but that's not why I bought it. I bought it because it's so stinkin' cute! I also bought the coordinating wheel, Right on Track. I kind of think it looks like a picket fence, so I may play with that idea. Maybe put the rabbit from Forest Friends behind the fence, like he snuck into Mr. McGregor's garden!

Anyway, this card is fairly simple, nothing fancy. The sentiment is from Stem Sayings. I cut it out to look like it was part of the tracks. It's popped up with Dimensionals, as are the puffs of smoke.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to post some Easter ideas this week, so come back again!
Happy Stamping!

Two Cards in One Day!

Wow! I actually got to make two cards in one day! Quite a feat for me, since I rarely get to stamp for fun. Seems I'm always "working" on something. Guess that's why I LOVE my work so much, since it always involves papercrafting!! But today I got to stamp just for me. I participated in three challenges: the Featured Stamper Challenge FS111 over at Splitcoast, Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge WSC73, and the Color Throwdown Challenge CTD34. The first card is for the Featured Stamper Challenge. I chose to CASE Beate's card Krafty Dots. It's kind of intimidating to CASE such an expert stamper as Beate. She's been posting her cards since 2003! I didn't even start stamping until 2006 and I didn't start posting until 2008! So here is my feeble attempt:

For my Technique club on Tuesday night, I want to show my gals different ways to use re-inkers, so I colored this white flower from the SU! Pretties kit with So Saffron ink. I love the "sunflower" look it has. The sentiment comes from Morning Soft and the background was made using En Francais and Baroque Motifs. I think I've used that set so often I've practically damaged the rubber! The colors are Kraft, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. Ink is Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand.

This next card is the Weekend Sketch Challenge and the Color Throwdown Challenge:
Fun sketch and fabulous color combo of Blush Blossom, Kiwi Kiss and Not Quite Navy. I also added Chocolate Chip as a nuetral. This set is called Forest Friends and will be available April 1st from the SU! Occasions Mini Catalog. The sentiment is from the Level 1 Hostess set called Sweet Little Sentiments. I can't quite see it in the picture, but the Kiwi background is embossed with the Little Dots SU! Texturz plate and the NQN panel is embossed with the Large Dots plate. I love that SU! is selling the embossing plates now. I love the texture they add to cards. And it's such a simple technique! I love simple too.
Hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I did.
Stamping, stamping and more stamping!

Featured Stamper 110

I love the Sunday Featured Stamper Challenge FS110 over at SCS. It's one of my favorite challenges. I don't always get to partcipate, but today I did. Today's stamper is Twinshappy. Here gallery is HUGE! I can't believe she has enough time to stamp that many cards and upload them to SCS! She deserves to be the Featured Stamper. I chose to CASE two cards. The first is Birthday Butterflies and the second is Chick Ultrasound. Here are my cards: The butterfly card has no stamping on it at all. But it does use all SU! products. I LOVE the Beautiful Butterfly Sizzix die!
The second card uses a new stamp set that will be available April 1st from the SU! Occasions Mini Catalog called Wagon Full Of Fun. It's super cute. I wanted to make an Easter card so this is what I came up with. The Tea Party DSP is perfect for Easter projects. So many wondeful, soft pastels. I didn't even own the Almost Amethyst ink pad until I bought this DSP. Now I wonder what took me so long! Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Featured Stamper 100

These two cards are for today's Featured Stamper Challenge FS100 over at SplitCoast Stampers. The featured stamper is Julie Ebersole (aka JulieHRR) who is a "famous" crafter in the stamping world. You can check out her fabulous creations on her blog Paper Trufflez.
My first card is a CASE of Julie's Victorian Love.

It kind of has an old-fashioned, romantic feel. Not my normal style, but that's what's fun about CASEing someone else!
All supplies are from Stampin' Up!
CARDSTOCK: Riding Hood Red, Creamy Caramel, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
STAMPS: Always, Bella Toile BG
INK: Riding Hood Red, Creamy Caramel
ACCESORIES: Riding Hood Red Taffetta Ribbon, Halfback Pearl

My second card is a CASE of Julie's Plum Pink Bday. It's a little overexposed, but I kind of like it that way! Be prepared, it's pink and orange... AGAIN!

Isn't it cute?! I really love these colors together. I'll be using the Sweet Always DSP for my next class on the 13th and I can't wait! I stamped the birds on the Pretty In Pink CS and then on Whisper White CS and then paper pieced them. All the supplies are from Stampin' Up!

CARDSTOCK: Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Pumpkin Pie
STAMPS: Always, Love You Much, Polka Dot BG
INK: Regal Rose, Pretty In Pink, Pumpkin Pie
ACCESSORIES: Curly Label Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, 1/4" Pumpkin Grosgrain Ribbon, Soft Subtle Brads

Featured Stamper 89

This is for today's Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Today's stamper is Emily, a.k.a. Ink-E. Her gallery is full of fresh and fun ideas and layouts. And she is only 18! I chose to CASE this card:

I love the fresh clean layout and fun colors. I also love her attention to details, the metal embellishment and the way her peircing is "inside-out". I think it's an awesome card. Mine is nothing in comparison. I thought I owned the large Sizzix Scallop Die, but apparently I don't. So I had to make some minor adjustments to my card. I did get to use my new stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs. Fun, fun, fun! Here's my card:

I used some retired DSP for the scallops. My base is Very Vanilla. The cross is embossed on River Rock with Clear EP. I sponged the edges with Wild Wasabi. Then layered it on VV and Chocolate Chip. I tried the "inside-out" piercing. Very fun and unique! Of course I stamped my sentiment last and of course I stamped it crooked! Grrrrr! I hate when that happens! But I was NOT going to start over, so it is what it is. If your looking for more info, check out my gallery at SCS.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great stamping day!

Featured Stamper 88 and Stamp Simply 56

Is it possible to CASE two wonderful stampers at the same time? I don't know, but I'm going to try! Here's a card for the Featured Stamper Challenge on splitcoaststampers. It's also for the Stamp Simply Challenge on Sharon Johnson's blog. I pretty much kept the layout the same as Anne Ryan, the Featured Stamper. The Stamp Simply Challenge was to CASE Sharon.

Some of the suggested guidelines were: use an elegant nature stamp, embossing folders, wide ribbon, hatpins and beads for embellishments. I tried to fit all that into this card.

I love Chocolate Chip paired with Blush Blossom. And since I knew I wanted to use some of my retired SU! Chocolate Satin ribbon, my color combo just fell into place. I really love this ribbon. I wish SU! would put it in the catalog permanently. I don't know what I'm going to do when this roll is gone. I know I'll be sad! So how'd I do?

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful weekend!
